Ditto that ..... I carry a 1911A1 BBQ gun most of the time but for serious day to day carry where such is beat up scratched and abused with acidic sweat and other things one encounters day to day the tenifer finish on a glock can’t be beat.

Combat Tupperware is good stuff....proven, tested passed.

I carry a G30 or a G21, chamber empty , dry fired cavalry style in my waistband. Can’t recommend enough a basic simple no bells or buttons and levers etc handgun than a Glock. I don;t like the mini versions but the 19, 23 or 30 etc are good choices for CCW/CHL utility abuse and wear and tear !

Holster w/ a thumbreak if ya carry it with a round down the tube is my suggestion.

Aside from the Mk I or II series of .22 autos I do not like or own a ruger automatic. But Blackhawks, Bisley, Redhawks, Vaqueros etc and a few No 1’s and a mini 14.

On record as do like like or recommend a ruger P series at all. personal preference and experience with em when they came out. Friends that owned em and brought em too the range had nothing but trouble. A CHL/CCW rig has to be 100% reliable and the person carrying it has to have confidence in it.....

The ruger P series doesn’t instill that in me with regards to my use of em in training environments etc ......

Glock, SIG’s Browning High Powers, 1911A1’s are favorites but a SW or Ruger Auto are not on a list I’d suggest to a new shooter or person asking for a recomendation.

just my opinions of course......:o)

Since I teach Personal Protection classes,
I also recommend a glock de-cocked and magazine loaded.
