If Ulrich Schlüer has his way the Wangen minaret will be toppled. An MP from the rightwing Swiss People's party (SVP), the country's strongest, Mr Schlüer has launched a crusade to keep his country culturally Christian.
"Unlike other religions," he argues, "Islam is not only a religion. It's an ideology aiming to create a different legal system. That's sharia. That's a big problem and in a proper democracy it has to be tackled. If the politicians don't, the people will."
Switzerland's direct democracy rules require referendums if there is enough public support. Mr Schlüer has launched a petition demanding a new clause in the Swiss constitution stating: "The building of minarets in Switzerland is forbidden." He already has 40,000 signatures. ...

The nativists, right wingers and xenophobes are correct with this statement. Any other religion, be it Bhuddists, Jews, Hindus, Lutherans or Mormons, can get along with their neighbors. Only the Muslims seek to supplant the legal system of their host country.
This is not being a good guest. And the guest has no right to expect the host to roll over while their own house is taken over.
I would definately have a policy of allowing no more of them in my country than there are churches and synagogues in most muslim countries.
I would think the greater fear would be about the worshipers therein.

Girls who get raped must be stoned or murdered by their own family to preserve the “honor” of the family.
So, I repudiate all who denigrate Christians and think the “Religion of Peace” is morally equivalent. It is morally repugnant. Coulter is right we should have converted the Iraqis. We are not cruel enough to rehab an Islamic country the way it was done in Turkey by Attaturk.
