Congressmen press Justice to test Sandy Berger
Still no polygraph as agreed in plea deal, 'national security' at issue

Two years after agreeing to a polygraph in a plea deal, former National Security adviser Sandy Berger still has not taken the test, prompting 23 Republican Congress members to demand action by the Department of Justice.

The aim is to determine "what documents were stolen and how our national security was compromised," said the letter by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., to the acting attorney general.

Berger – who was placed on probation, fined $50,000 and stripped of his security clearance for three years after admitting he took classified documents from the National Archives – reportedly is advising Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, but the New York Democrat insists he has no official capacity.

The documents have never been recovered, Rohrabacher points out in the letter.

In 2005, the former Clinton aide agreed, as part of the plea deal, to have the Department of Justice administer a polygraph test, but Rohrabacher notes "two years have passed and he has yet to fulfill his legal obligation."

As WND reported in March, the White House said it was studying whether Berger would take the polygraph test.

Sandy Berger still has not taken the test...

Like most socialist democrats his IQ is below room temperature. Stuffing classified documents into his trousers shows a lot of class on his part.

Hillary would name him her National Security Advisor. Janet's getting fitted with a straitjacket to resume her old position as attorney general.

Dr. Elders, answer the phone. President Clinton is on the line.

I believe you need to substitute socialist democrats for compassionate conservatives since they allow dems to run wild and protect some BS "honor code" of past administration officials.

Now Hillary is scrambling to distance herself and her campaign from The Bergler.......describing him as just a long-time friend and only one of a thousand or so of her "unofficial" advisers.

This was an unexplicable error by Her Heinous in an otherwise tightly-controlled campaign. There's a lot more to this than meets the eye.

And it makes one wonder why the administration is apparently participating in this ongoing cover-up because it's obvious there IS one.

From the story:

Last year, Berger plea bargained a criminal sentence on the charge of unlawfully removing and retaining classified documents. A judge gave him no prison time, a $50,000 fine, 100 hours of community service and a ban from access to classified material for three years.

Does anyone recall whether he pleaded nolo contrendre, or guilty to a misdemeanor, or to a felony, or .... what?

The class of the charge would of course be relevant to his ability to obtain clearance in the future.

Although under the relentlessly vigilant Gonzales DoJ it's likely he was convicted of nothing.

Sandy Bergler in re polygraph test

A) Will never take test

B) Results will absolve him

C) Results will be declared ambiguous

D) Resuts will implicate GWB in document theft

(The only polygraph question: “Do you FEEL you did anything wrong?)

Berger's only polygraph question: “Do you FEEL you did anything wrong?

Let me rephrase that in case Sandy didn't understand it:

"As a tolerant and compassionate Democrat, who did it 'for the children and to advance peace in the Mideast' you don't really feel you did anything wrong, do you?"

Last time I looked, the Democratic Party did not have hiring and firing authority at the Justice Department. Wake up. This is a Bush problem, not a Democratic problem.

Get real.

After the deal the Bush Justice Department cut with Berger, do you honestly think they are concerned with justice being served?

I don’t know why, but Justice knowingly allowed Berger to skate.

"Many conservatives burrowed within the Department of Justice have long complained that Gonzales has permitted career government employees and hold-overs from Democratic Administrations to remain in perches of power and thereby water down conservative directives from the top. As one conservative and Federalist Society member in the Justice Department told me: “This is definitely not Ronald Reagan’s Justice Department, I assure you. You have holdovers from Clinton calling the shots in a lot of places here.” "

Way to go, President Bush. Nice job.

Berger – who was placed on probation, fined $50,000 and stripped of his security clearance for three years after admitting he took classified documents from the National Archives

What the story fails to mention is that this slap on the wrist is what the corrupt-to-the-core Bush Justice Department recommended - - except that the corrupt-to-the-core Bush Justice Department only wanted a $10,000 fine. This recommendation embarrassed even the Democrat judge, Deborah Robinson, so she jacked the fine up to $50,000.

Man, January 2009 can't come fast enough.

Nope just business as usual, this is the President's doing. He has been protecting the Clinton's since day one. But it is OK, after all he is a Republican. This forum was created out of the Clinton scandal, sadly we also helped put GW in office. \He has been a major disappointment to me, on several fromns, for sure, and yes I voted for him twice.

In October of 2007 Hillary Clinton appointed convicted felon Sandy Berger to her staff as senior foriegn affairs advisor. When Berger escaped testimony in his trial for stealing and destroying Top Secret government documents from the National Archives he avoided testifying under oath as to who put him up to the task of helping derail the 9/11 Commission investigation, what the documents were or if he actually destroyed them. For all we know he could have stolen valuable intelligence and passed it straight to Iran, China or S. Korea and may continue to do so if given the chance again.

Now, Hillary Clinton proposes to give him that chance. For when she gets the democrat nomination for President she will get daily intelligence briefings on everything the White House is dealing with in foriegn matters and Sandy Berger will be helping her analize that intel.

Whether Mrs. Clinton changes her mind about this appointment or not, the fact that she thumbed her nose at America by making this dicision in the first place should be all the American voters need to know about the character of this woman who is attempting to gain the highest office in the land and possibly become the most powerful politician in the world.

I (for one) think this should be a primary issue of the '08 race and for the (R) presidential candidates to ignore it is a big disappointment to me.

I am praying for a man of strength to step up ...:-(
