Now, one of the victims’ families and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department are going one step further than the Kentucky State Police post and are telling 9 News that the human remains are indeed those of Ada Wasson and Mary Ellen Walters.

The car the women were traveling in was found nearly 10 miles past their likely intended exit for a shopping center.

At an evening press conference Sunday, the Kentucky State Police Campbellsburg Post provided additional information on how the remains of Ada Wasson and Mary Ellen Walters were found off of I-71 south near the Carroll County-Henry County line.

Kentucky State Police First Class Trooper Chip Perry said that a 9-1-1 call came in just after 9 a.m. Sunday morning from a hunter who spotted bones off of Carmen Creek Road in Henry County. Scattered remains were found, and while a positive identification on the women is pending, the Chevy Impala located at the scene is registered in Ada Wasson’s name and matches the description of the car the women were in when they went missing months ago.

Kentucky State Police say there are no signs of anything criminal and foul play is not suspected. They are waiting to hear from the State’s Medical Examiner before they say the remains are indeed those of the women.

An aerial view of where the discovery was made released by the Kentucky State police shows the car was found down at least one, rural, private road, and within earshot of Interstate 71 in Campbellsburg. How they got there still isn’t known.

“It is a very wooded area,” Henry County Coroner Jimmy Pollard said on Sunday. “It is very similary to what we would refer to as a river bottom, and during wet times, that would have been flooded.”

Brad Nixon, Walters’ son-in-law, told 9 News the family was notified earlier Sunday evening and were told the women’s remains were found outside of the car. Nixon said Wasson’s remains were found about 600 yards from the car, an indication she may have attempted to get help but became injured. Walters’ remains were found closer to Wasson’s car.

“We cannot say whether it was an accident or anything until we get more results,” Kentucky State Trooper Chip Perry said. “The investigation is preliminary, however, foul play is not suspected at this time.”

I wonder what the weather was like the day they disappeared. It might've been during a downpour.

It is like open season lately, or am I just noticing something that has been going on for some time?

There seems to be an epidemic of this type of activity in the last year or two.

As Laplace said, “I have no need of this hypothesis.”

Just wait, you’ll see!

Ah, but you won’t see. That’s the irony.

FReeper Bartholomew Roberts, son-in-law of Mary Ellen, posted this comment on the original thread:

It appears that they got lost and went down a country lane that ended as a logging road on an abandoned farm. They got stuck and apparently waited there for help which didn’t come to them.

Ada was found 600 yards from the car and my mother in law was found at the car. The family was told that they were under tree cover which made searching by air impossible. The area was private property which was not searched on the ground. They were found by a local deer hunter.

I remembered this story from this Spring. I didn't realize that one of these women was related to you. Please accept my sincerest condolences.

After I replied to you I had the mods remove my post. Thanks for calling me on it. Black humor is not funny when it hits close to home. I feel bad that anyone affected read my post.
