It is a fact of life that ALL retirement plans, whether 401K or Social Security, rely on the assumption that there will be a large next generation who will run the economy which will generate the profits and tax revenues that will keep SS and mutual funds afloat

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Thank you, you provide an illustration of a fact conveniently forgotten by too many. In the absence of an increasing population of workers our only real hope for retirement is robotics and that would depend on robots building other robots. Otherwise the future looks very bleak for today’s young folks when they reach retirement age.

THAT’S who “Carrie Bradshaw” is??? So then why use a washed up 40-something acting like a hot-babe wannabe to describe an actual hot 25 year old?

Delayed marriage and delayed childbearing mean a declining birth rate.

To pretend that there are not nations with increasing birthrates is silly. Therefore, the workers for the “new girl” lifestyles of the non-producing females will be the children of cultures not their own.

And, in that regard, those children will inherit that land.

Why get married when you can party on? It looks as though more young women are adopting the attitude that so many young men have about marriage. Indeed, the rise of the SYF is a direct result of the widespread acceptance of artificial birth control and of the sexual revolution. If it's okay to have sex outside of marriage and if it's possible to prevent pregnancy, then why bother to get married? Why should men be the only ones to benefit from all of this glorious sexual freedom? Why should men have all the fun? The rise of SYFs is a bad thing but we shouldn't be surprised that it is happening.

Sideways to the topic, but... am I the only one who’s never seen anything at all attractive in Sarah Jessica Parker? If they ever remake the Wizard of Oz, she’s a shoo-in for the Wicked Witch of the West.

My wife works as an RN in an infertility clinic. She sees these women all the time: 35, no kids, with poor choices for husbands, and desperate to have a baby.

Our family has accelerated the education of our daughters to the point that they are doing college and even some post-graduate level work at the ages of 13 and barely 15. That means that by the time they actually complete college, they'll have time for a family.

The current system is a recipe for a tragic life, not to mention demographic suicide.

There is an unfortunate and a fortunate side to this.

These people vote Democrat - and single females especially vote to have the government protect and provide security.

Short term - more government “protecting and security”.
Long term - less liberals due to the fertility gap.

Careers are baby deniers. These women are going to be VERY bitter when they have put off having children to go clubbing, work on their careers and abs, and stay out of committed relationships, only to be told by the doctor “I’m sorry, you probably can’t conceive at your age”.

And there is a limit to the security the government can provide. The government only have the resources that the productive middle class creates for it

In the case of physical security, an instructive illustration is the LA riots: when the excrement hit the fan, you saw on TV the cops running away to save themselves, and to look after their own families and homes.

There is no "government", there are only men and women who work for the government, and who may have their own personal priorities then things go way south

I just returned from a women's retreat in which I spent considerable time talking to a mother of an 11 year old daughter. She is beside herself worrying about the corrupting influences on her young daughter and struggling to protect her innocence. As a mother of young sons, I often shake my head when I see how young girls are encouraged to be trashy and "hot". Many of these girls will end up used, discarded and bitter. I don't want my sons mixed up with girls like these, and I surely don't want girls of this sort to be mothers to my grandchildren.

I know each generation has typically thought that the next generation has loose morals, but I really don't think I'm over-reacting. Lives are being ruined by this celebration of sex as entertainment and sheer materialism. We certainly encourage our sons to treat women with respect, and to recognize and avoid trashy or high-maintenance women. I struggle with what else we can be doing to help swing the pendulum back to a more wholesome way of life.
