Not very different from the way all of DU fell for Bev Harris. And the hangover is going to be almost as much fun to watch.

Are you friggin' serious? Comparing Fred's candidacy to a con artist who scammed DUers out of cash for a non-existent Diebold conspiracy?

No, what's amazing is how poor the field was for conservatives that Fred managed to jump into the top 3 with little no campaigning. He's spent little to no campaign money in Iowa, but already he's number 2, where Mitt has basically bought the state for around $30 million.

New Hampshire's relevance has dwindled to nil after 2000. Bush proved that you not only don't need New Hampshire to win, you don't need New Hampshire to win big.

But perceptions are important, and I haven't seen the hunger, the fire in the belly that a GOP candidate will need to win next year.

Please tell me you didn't just say "fire in the belly". You Mitt people are unbelievable.

And the guy in your tagline is still nothing more than a single blade of grass in the field.

The man looks like half a corpse already. There just isn’t any way in the world he could take on a normal campaign schedule.

I don’t think he’s going to last long. Would be happy to be wrong.

On a related note....?

Blurring the borders: Southern NH becoming more like Massachusetts and most aren't happy about it.

Um, Bush didn't win "big" in 2000. In fact, you may remember, he almost didn't win at all.

I'm not arguing that a presidential candidate winning their party's primary in my state translate into a lock on the general election, but using Bush's 2000 election is a poor example.

Campaign schedules get changed all the time. Fred will be on Neil Cavuto’s show this afternoon.

New Hampshire voters noticed. “He's a late entry. That will probably hurt him,” said Geri Gormley, of Bow, who visited with McCain but remains uncommitted. “We're grass roots. Candidates come up and pick our brains, one on one. We had (Barack) Obama's staff come to our door today. That's good strategy.”

We need to move away from Iowa and NH having such influence on the nominees of our party. These small states do not represent the demograhics of this country nor the political interests. The idea that these candidates have to grovel before these arrogant voters who need to be approached one on one is ridiculous in this nation of over 300 million.

Yeah, we need a pretty boy who likes gay scoutmasters, instead!

Mitty is a liberal, who lies about his positions. No one here will vote for Mitt, probably not even in the general.

Bush did win "big" in 2000. He took almost two thirds of the votes, and 77% of the Rep delegates. 2000 PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION RESULTS

I am, I guess, but I do have the best interests of the party at heart. Thompson is too old and too unhealthy to be president. The sooner you guys recognize that, the sooner you can put your energy behind a candidate who can actually beat Hillary.

You do want to beat Hillary, don’t you?

Wrong, 100% wrong. Bush creamed McCain in 2000; the only reason there is a perception otherwise is that the mainstream media created a supposedly close race, very similar to what is being done with the Clinton/Obama race. Bush was never in any serious danger of losing to McCain, even though the drivebys tried to make it seem so.

I'm not arguing that a presidential candidate winning their party's primary in my state translate into a lock on the general election, but using Bush's 2000 election is a poor example.

How about Pat Buchanan in '92?

Please tell me you didn't just say "fire in the belly". You Mitt people are unbelievable.

It current trends continue and as Fred has more appearances in the dog and pony shows Presidential Debates you will not have to worry about them. Running one's own campaign correctly and not being a dancing bear is indicative of exactly the kind of President we need. We need a President that runs the show and does not try to BE the show.

Soooo… Fred is still climbing in the polls. Rudy toot was up by 12% over Fred just two days ago when Fred showed a small increase from the debates and Rudy dropped by the same amount. That 12% has now narrowed to just 6%...

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll

Giuliani is now supported by 29% of Likely Primary Voters while Thompson is the top choice for 23%. Mitt Romney is the favorite for 13%. John McCain has fallen back to single digits and now has just a single point advantage over Mike Huckabee who has seen his support inch up to 8%

Fred just knows what Romney’s people don’t want to admit: Ron Paul is going to take New Hampshire.

It’s that “lazy” thing he’s notorious for. Sounds to me he just doesn’t like to pander. These people just want someone to tell them what they want to hear.

Right! Why run a conventional campaign? He’s just playing into the people’s puny wants and needs.
