Osama bin Laden may be hiding in the impenetrable mountains near the Afghanistan border, but FBI counterterror officials say they have identified several of his associates in a far more accessible spot -- northern New Jersey.
The FBI's elite Joint Terrorism Task Force in Newark says it is not only monitoring a number of North Jersey residents with ties to al-Qaida, but that agents have quietly "disrupted" their activities and even deported a few.
These glimpses into North Jersey's war on terrorism, from a series of interviews with task force leaders, come on the heels of revelations last summer that Bin Laden's terror network had regained strength. But that rebuilding was thought to have taken place overseas.

Why do we deport some, rather than arrest them?
There’s a large Muslim population in Paterson, NJ.
Jersey City is full of them too. Plus we have the jail house converted Muslims all over the state.
It is utterly disgusting that the democrat party and its members actively trammel the national security efforts of the United States and jeopardize the safety of U.S. citizens for political purposes.
Democrats put Americans in danger - daily.
I cannot believe the divide in this country.
God help us if we do not think that talking to an Al Qaeda operative is not illegal!

That is incorrect. At least one runs a law firm in NJ that specializes in immigration law.
Oh please. This is NJ. Our politicians don’t think taking donations from terrorists is illegal. We don’t profile in this state you know.
My daughter dated a Monmouth County prison guard when 9/11 happened. The Muslims were cheering in that jail. They scare me . I lived for a short time near a mosque & it was mainly converts from prison. It was horrible & I was really glad I had my dogs. When my house was finally remodeled I was so happy to get away from there.
Shaking my head. If you know about it, then why don’t they?
That is a great question to pose for NJ. Maybe a better one, why isn’t any of the information ever acted on in NJ?

Cowardice is not a Muslim monopoly. We have politicians right here at home who cower in fear for Islam and try to appease it by giving it recognition and privileges other religions don’t have while constantly proclaiming that Islam is a ROP.
And in the meantime, the floodgates of Islamic immigration remain wide open.
I personally find it stupid of Al-Qaeda to produce bombs, that could blow up in their faces, and carry out acts of terrorism. All they have to do is to be patient and wait for our politicians to hand them our country on a silver platter without having to fire a shot.
Or shoot them?
