It shouldn’t be funded by federal taxpayers, but it’s easy to imagine why Schumer feels the need for more sewers in NY.

Schumer noted that nearly $20 million goes into state sewage and water treatment infrastructure every year, and that the local taxpayers should not have to bear that burden. Just another attempt to play the shell game. He makes it sound like it's free if funded at the federal level. This is so discouraging. However, it does confirm that you don't have to understand anything about economics to get elected to Congress.

I don’t recall sewers as being one of the provisions of our Federal Constitution.

Schumer wants to fund getting rid of excrement?
How often do you see a Democrat request funding for his demise?

With the offal that pours out of his mouth on a daily basis he is an expert on this subject.
Too bad he does not know enough about the Constitution to understand that the funding is not the responsibility of the Federal Government.

and that the local taxpayers should not have to bear that burden. That is really nice to the people who only pay local taxes but don't pay any federal tax. Maybe we should wait until the UN offers to pay for new sewers for everyone so that even the federal government won't have to pay for them.

Just think of how much BI-PARTISAN cooperation a Giuliani Administration will have with liberals like Chuckie, Here's an example,,,,
Democratic lawmakers praised the Mayor's push for gun control. "It would be great if Mayor Giuliani could become the point Republican pushing comprehensive gun control legislation," said Representative Charles E. Schumer, the Brooklyn Democrat who is the leading proponent of handgun control in the House of Representatives.
--New York Times, March 8, 1994
It looks like President Giuliani will have lots and lots of bi-partisan cooperation for his social agenda.

Who cares what that POS has been pushing? His proposals, just like him, go nowhere, and if, by chance, they do they cost a fortune and do nothing...
...and I've been pushing for desalination, nuclear power, and using the ocean's FREE energy to create electricity for years.
Still, no one listens. :(

I'd sooner trim (axe) welfare and Medicare and Medicaid and the public school system. We'd have all kinds of money then.
