IIRC the CoJCoLDS would excommunicate him if he promoted abortion. He does not. He was skirting a very fine line with some of the things he said about Ezra Taft Benson. The LDS church has more then just promoting abortion to excommunicate people, but with Dirty Harry far as i know his voting record has been against abortion.

He was skirting a very fine line with some of the things he said about Ezra Taft Benson. If it's on the political level then it's fair game, if he's confusing politics with doctrine then it's not. IIRC a certain general authority form the Navajo nation was excommunicated for doing just that 20 years ago or so.
