Did "the father of in-vitro" conceive of the idea naturally, or did he need a little help? Heh, heh.
Thanks for the pics. Our little non-viable blob is 9 weeks old now.
He leaves that hanging over all the other aspects of the question which casts doubts and grey areas. For a good intellectual conservative to completely avoid the scientific PROOF and perpetuate doubt where there is irrefutable certainty is pathetic and it infuriates me.
He says he does’t know, while in the middle of the article he challenges politicians to see if they’ve done their homework on this critically important issue.
For Jonah to say “I don’t know” is totally unacceptable because he darn well should know. He’s playing into the hands of those who prey on that “not-knowing”
If he or anyone else would do a minimum due diligence on the subject and read what the scientists stated, they would no longer repeat the idiotic line about “not knowing”. It's destructive.
Lots of people will read his article, and that line will come across to many as “no one is sure”, when it’s a scientific absolute.
For Jonah to say he does not know means: a: he's ignorant of the mountain of scientific PROOF (unlikely) b: He knows and does not accept the ABSOULTE PROOF and also does not offer the ABSOULTE PROOF to others.
Wow. That is a powerful story. Thank you for posting.
In his book, “Notes on the State of Virginia,” Jefferson said, writing as a lifelong slave owner,
“Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: That his justice cannot sleep for ever.”
Imagine what Jefferson would say today, in this ever darkening culture of death.
“We, the people, are the rightful masters of both
Congress and the courts; not to overthrow the
Constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert
the Constitution.” —Abraham Lincoln
Lorianne,
You’ve been on my list for years and I know you’re a wonderful pro-lifer, so Im not piling on here, but I want to add another point.
Jonah is very good friends with Ramesh Ponnuru, at http://www.nationalreview.com
Ramesh wrote the major pro-life book last year The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life* which exposed the liberal tactics on abortion and the cult of death in general. Jonah reviewed the book at least once and was completely supportive of it. And of course Jonah has written pro-life pieces over many years.
Jonah is editor-at-large of National Review Online and IMO (generally) a smart political & cultural conservative. From my perspective all this makes Jonahs I don’t know if life begins at conception. even more frustrating. If you are pro-life AND someone who is read by people all around the world you should never say thatfor a very long list of reasons.

Jonah slept through every biology class, that is the only rational reason I can come up with for his statement here.
Jonah, if you are reading this you screwed up big time, my friend. You need to study more and get right on this ASAP.
umm...because the alternative is...
