Former eastern Idaho elk rancher Rex Rammell says he'll seek the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in 2008 -- and he's filming a new DVD about his life.
Rammell got attention last year when more than a hundred of his elk escaped, prompting then-Gov. Jim Risch to order an emergency hunt.
Risch is also running for embattled Sen. Larry Craig's seat.
Rammell says he's been battling for his elk ranch, and property rights, for the past seven years.
He says his DVD will be called "Something Worth Fighting For: The Rex Rammell Story."
He says his Senate run isn't a vendetta against Risch.
Rammell says he wants to go back to Washington, D.C. and shake up the way federal government operates in Idaho residents' lives.

We need more anti-establishment types to run. While I have nothing against Jim Risch, I hope that Rammell does well.
From what I could tell of Rammell, he seemed a little “too out there.”
I don’t know enough about him to say. He doesn’t seem like a Ron Paul type.
I’m trying to do a little background research on him, but Larry Craig getting interviewed by the MSM tonight isn’t really helping me.
EV, you got anything?
Not really enough to comment as yet. Sorry.
