Brownback to pitch proposal apologizing for slavery
The Boston Globe ^ | October 16, 2007 | Jenn Abelson

Senator Sam Brownback, a Republican trying to inject new life into his beleaguered presidential campaign, plans to offer a resolution this week for Congress to apologize for slavery and segregation.

Brownback, of Kansas, told The Boston Globe's editorial board yesterday he will join an unnamed Democrat in sponsoring the proposal. He said he expects a tough fight on the resolution, even though it will not include any call for reparations.

"They were federal policies," he said. "They were wrong. The only way for us to move forward . . . is at the end of day acknowledging those, taking ownership for it, and asking for forgiveness."

Don’t apologize for me or any of my ancestors. We never owned any slaves.
Slavery apologies are nothing more than pandering by political correctionists.

I didn’t want to read the article. Is Brownback still running for president?

Its’ a hard choice isn’t it, if you eliminate losers, retreads, wimps, RINOs, and those mad with ambition, it doesn’t leave many.

"NOTHING intelligent comes out of the mouth of anyone who presently holds the claim to the title of Senator." Don't look now, but I think you should include yourself in that assertion of yours!

They were looking for you on Lou Dobbs the other night. They were wondering just who those 11% of the people were who approved of Congress.

Brownback, IMO, is the archetypal bleeding-heart "compassionate conservative". Illegal immigration, third-world poverty, slavery, torture, the death penalty, and other "high moral ground" issues, in addition to his admirable stance on life issues (which falls into the same category), define Brownback. Looking over his voting record, yes he is also a surprisingly strong friend of the taxpayer, but, like Ron Paul, he hasn't chosen to make his conservative credentials the focal points of his campaign (other than abortion-related issues).

This is religion today. Brownback wears his faith on his sleeve. This idiocy is enough to make me go atheist and maybe communist too Happy Face Smiley 100x100

I called Brownback's office when he supported the Open Borders and Amnesty for Criminal Invaders Act, loudly explaining he no longer had to visit Iowa as he had ZERO chance--

Then he joined the HairPlugPlagiarist in hacking Iraq to pieces.

Now he plays the pathetic blubbering white fool sniveling and groveling for something settled by hundreds of thousands of real men a century and a half ago.

We gave Belteslazer at Little Anna May 25, 1864, a higher price than anything Mr. Post-It-Note-Religious-Affiliation could afford.

Where do they get these pukes.

He also apologized to Hillary for voting for her husband's impeachment.

I want to thank Brownback for showing his true colors and sabotaging his campaign before the Primary votes. I’m glad he is already a dead issue thanks to his immigration stance.

Now I find Brownback wanted to apologize to "to all native peoples" for hundreds of years of government hostility and oppression.

I have to admit, he is one sorry sob.

Hillary told this little tale a few weeks ago on Joe Scarborough's show.

It touched Joe's newly bleeding heart to hear about another RINO kissing Clinton a**.
