Not in my name Sam. My relatives were still in Ireland when slavery occurred and when they came here were probably not treated to much better.

Brownback, of Kansas, told The Boston Globe's editorial board yesterday he will join an unnamed Democrat in sponsoring the proposal.

Joe Biden?

Well, I was looking into my family’s sordid white-trash history and back in 1847, my great-great-grandfather was walking down the street when he suddenly started whaling on this one fat, slobby-looking guy for no apparent reason at all. So I’d like to apologize for that and make reparations to that guy’s family. Even if the only living relative today happens to be Michael Moore.

Senator Sam Brownback, a Republican trying to inject new life into his beleaguered presidential campaign, plans to offer a resolution this week for Congress to apologize for slavery and segregation

Kiss my butt....when is someone going to apologize to me....I got a list of bitches too

In addition to “barf” alerts we need “weenie” alerts. But not to take away from or detract from the meteorological use of this fine term.

Good grief allot of scum has floated up or sunk into politics.

Fred does not advocate this.

I would suspect Brownback is looking for a way to make his Presidential campaign relevant. Somehow, I don’t think going liberal is going to help.

It does help if you are running for Governor of California.

Republican representatives (including the current President) have sold their seed to the winds, and now they are reaping the whirlwind.

Is that explanation good enough for you?

What were his three religious affiliations? Just curious.

This proves the polls are lying. This man should never even be on the radar screen much less a Republican candidate for President.

They should change the name of the GOP to the Anti-Machiavellian Party. They’re the first party in history to pander to the people who vote against them.

This is the same republican senator who introduced the senate version of the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act. He seems to fall for these stupid left wing stunts.

Brownback has strong pro-life credentials and is Catholic. Both are pluses for me—or would be if Brownback didn’t also keep coming up with stuff like this, which makes no sense.

Earlier, he undermined the war effort, at a critical moment, and now he sounds like bill clinton.

Apologizing for slavery, to which Republicans put an end 140 years ago, is a meaningless gesture. There are many genuine social issues, but this pointless posturing is something you might expect from bill or hillary clinton. Who is he trying to impress?

His poll numbers will be near zero after this....(just slightly lower than they are now!)
