You're right. He has always taken a wide stance on many important issues. He's the kind of Senator that brings men together. He's a uniter, not a divider.
I heard he reaches out to others too..
If I may say so, it is my belief that we could turn the entire Senate and House out to pasture — start all over, and in very short order have a much better functioning government.
In my earlier years I spent some time in close proximity to the apex of National Power. And, it was my observation that these gents, perhaps unwittingly, ultimately catch Potomac Fever — and begin to believe their own press clippings — to the tragic detriment of good government. It was my view that mediocrity reigned supreme -- almost without exception -- at all levels within our National government. The really talented gents were heading up corporations and/or companies in the private sector.
Please remember that virtually ALL of the participants in the Continental Congress rode their horses to attend to National Business — and then, when the job was done, saddled up to ride home — to continue earning an HONEST living.
Career pols can be replaced in a heartbeat —with steadfast replacements that can, almost without exception, do seriously heavy lifting in a remarkably short period at the helm. We can ALL be replaced —with, in most cases, a far better product!
