The bidding at EBay has reached $100,000.
No word from the signers of the original letter if any of them plan to contribute....much less match the winning bid as Limbaugh has pledged to do.

I think we should all write or phone the signatories and ask if they plan to match the bid as Rush has pledged to do, and if not, why not?

Rush really stuck this up their (more than) ample butts!
Rush (and his staff) thought of that and had some screening mechanism to ensure bids would be valid. I tried bidding and I never got a confirmation that I had passed their screen (you had to have a valid eBay screen name and history; you had to be on-file; etc.). You have to hand it to Rush & Co., they thought this out very well to avoid having a scam -- my guess is, they have valid bidders involved who are taking this quite seriously. And before this auction comes to a conclusion, I assume there will have been more due diligence done on the final bidder(s).
This is so much fun to watch!

I notice both of my state’s Senators signed (Maryland). Of course, here in the Communist Counties of Maryland, they hate Rush and Bush so much that they’re more than happy to base their continued hate on a proven lie.

Not so. Exactly what he is doing here is the perfect way to "thumb his nose" at them...especially if he has pledged to match the winning bid. I say "touche".
That the price will entirely go to charity is probably a big skewing factor. Anyone prone to six digit donations anyway would be delighted to score a historic document, autographer’s delight, and publicized notariety in the process.
I am happy to say that neither Senator from the great State of Texas is a signatory to this ridiculous tripe. John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchinson will continue to recieve my vote.
