President Bush attended a ceremony this afternoon honoring the Dalai Lama of Tibet with a Congressional Gold Medal.
Americans cannot look to the plight of the religiously oppressed and close our eyes or turn away. And that is why I will continue to urge the leaders of China to welcome the Dalai Lama to China. They will find this good man to be a man of peace and reconciliation. (Applause.) (Transcript)
Comments like that couldnt have set well with the ChiComs, who warned the president that such a public ceremony would seriously damage China-US relations.
HAHAHAHAHA! Thats a good one!
President Bush essentially told China to get over themselves this morning during his televised press conference.
I told the Chinese President, President Hu that I was going to go to the ceremony. In other words, I brought it up. And I said I'm going because I want to honor this man I don't think it ever damages relations when the American President talks about religious tolerance--and religious freedom is good for a nation. (Transcript)
The president also spoke about Iran and the danger that country would pose to the worldand specifically to Israelif it became a nuclear power.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice arrived in Israel today, where she met with leaders and officials in Bethlehem and Ramalla.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
No problems I will sort out a good one for you
The one at #51 is pretty good if you don’t have a better one in your picture file.
LOL - good idea....I almost spit up when I first saw THOSE pics.

Darn laptop - sorry about the double post.
You can see the vein in Bella Pelosi’s brain just about to explode in the photos after post #38. She’s probably furious to have to sit there with a “religious leader” and Bush, after their latest phone conversation where he tells her to “shove it” and not push the bill on turkey/genocide crapola.
YOU GO GIRL!
Oh, DEFINITELY...true religion and spirituality are like kryptonite to people like her.
Hello
Oh, you mean people like Condi? ;)
Evening, Kas :)
LOL
Hi, Kitkat :) How are you tonight?
He really does.
He certainly did look wonderful today. Maybe its the effect of being with the Dalai Lama. They certainly seemed to enjoy each others company. It looks to me that the Dalai Lama really seems to admire our good president. I’m sure he senses what a kind compassionate spiritual man W is. It must really put liberals knickers in a twist to see that.
I know ... their "questions" sound a lot like statements to me.
