Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
walkin through the streets of Soho in the rain.
He was lookin for the place called Lee Ho Fooks, gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein.

Chorus:

Aaahoo, werewolves of London

Aaahoo(2x)

Ya hear him howlin around your kitchen door, ya better not let him in.

Little old lady got mutilated late last night, werewolves of London again.

Chorus 2x

He's the hairy, hairy gent, who ran amok in Kent.

Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair.

You better stay away from him, he'll rip your lungs out Jim.

Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor.

Chorus 2x

Well, I saw Lon Chaney walkin with the queen, doing the werewolves of London.

I saw Lon Chaney Jr. walkin with the queen, doin the werewolves of London

I saw a werewolf drinkin a pina colada at Trader Vic's And his hair was perfect.

ahhhooooo, werewolves of London

Draw blood

”Aretha Franklin & the Blues Brothers - Think

Think (think) think (think) think (think) think (think) You think (think) think (think) think about it You better think (think) think about what you're trying to do to me
Yeah, think (think, think), let your mind go, let yourself be free
Let's go back, let's go back, let's go way on back when
I didn't even know you, you couldn't have been too much more than ten
I ain't no psychiatrist, I ain't no doctor with a degree
It don't take too much high IQ's to see what you're doing to me
You better think (think) think about what you're trying to do to me
Yeah, think (think, think), let your mind go, let yourself be free

Oh freedom (freedom), freedom (freedom), freedom, yeah freedom
Freedom (freedom), freedom (freedom), freedom, oh freedom
Hey, think about it
You, think about it

There ain't nothing you could ask I could answer you but I won't (I won't)
I was gonna change, but I'm not, to keep doing things I don't
Hey think about what you're trying to do to me
Baby, think, let your mind go, let yourself be free
People walking around everyday, playing games that they can score
Trying to make other people lose their minds, be careful you don't lose yours

Yeah think (think) think about what you're trying to do to me
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah (think, think), let your mind go, let yourself be free
You need me (need me) and I need you (don't you know) Without eachother there ain't nothing people can do
Yeah yeah, think about me (what you're trying to do to me)
'Till the fall of the night, think about it right now

Oh freedom (freedom), freedom (freedom), freedom, yeah freedom
Freedom (freedom), freedom (freedom), freedom, freedom Hey, you, think about it

There ain't nothing you could ask I could answer you but I won't (I won't)
I was gonna change, but I'm not, if you keep doing things I don't
Yeah (think) think about what you're trying to do to me
Baby, think (think, think), let your mind go, let yourself be free
You need me (need me) and I need you (don't you know) Without eachother there ain't nothing people can do

Yeah yeah, think about me (what you're trying to do to me)
'Till the fall of the night, think about it baby

(Think about - ah me, think about - ah me, think about - ah me, think about it)
(Think about - ah me, think about - ah me, think about - ah me, think about it)
(Think about - ah me, think about - ah me, think about - ah me, think about it)
(Think about - ah me, think about - ah me, think about - ah me, think about it)
You had better stop and think before you think Think!

Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid-Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head

Artist: B.J. Thomas Song: Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head
Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
And just like the guy whose feet are too big for his bed
Nothin' seems to fit
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

So I just did me some talkin' to the sun
And I said I didn't like the way he got things done
Sleepin' on the job
Those raindrops are fallin' on my head, they keep fallin'

But there's one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me won't defeat me
It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothin's worryin' me

[trumpet]

It won't be long till happiness steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head
But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothin's worryin' me””

I say a little prayer for you-My best Friend's Wedding

The moment I wake up
Before I put on my makeup
I say a little pray for you
While combing my hair now,
And wondering what dress to wear now,
I say a little prayer for you

Forever, and ever, you'll stay in my heart
and I will love you
Forever, and ever, we never will part
Oh, how I love you
Together, forever, that's how it must be
To live without you
Would only meen heartbreak for me.

I run for the bus, dear,
While riding I think of us, dear,
I say a little prayer for you.
At work I just take time
And all through my coffee break-time,
I say a little prayer for you.

Forever, and ever, you'll stay in my heart
and I will love you
Forever, and ever we never will part
Oh, how I'll love you
Together, forever, that's how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me.

I say a little prayer for you

I say a little prayer for you

My darling believe me, ( beleive me)
For me there is no one but you!
Please love me too (answer his pray)
And I'm in love with you (answer his pray)
Answer my prayer now babe (answer his pray)

Forever, and ever, you'll stay in my heart
and I will love you
Forever, and ever we never will part
Oh, how I'll love you
Together, forever, that's how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me (oooooooooh)
Ooo

Ghostbuster

If there's something strange
in your neighborhood

Who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters!

If there's something weird
and it don't look good

Who you gonna call?
Ghostbusters!

I ain't afraid of no ghost
I ain't afraid of no ghost

If you're seeing things
running through your head

Who can you call?

Ghostbusters!

An invisible man
sleeping in your bed

Oh, who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters!

I ain't afraid of no ghost

I ain't afraid of no ghost

Who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters!

If you're all alone
pick up the phone

And call:

Ghostbusters!

I ain't afraid of no ghost
I hear it likes the girls

I ain't afraid of no ghost

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters!

Well, if you've had a dose of
a freaky ghost baby
You'd better call:
Ghostbusters! Ow!

Let me tell you something
Bustin' makes me feel good

I ain't afraid of no ghost
I ain't afraid of no ghost

Don't get caught alone, oh no

Ghostbusters!

When it comes through your door
Unless you just want some more
I think you better call

Ghostbusters!

Ow!

Who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters!

Who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters!

Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive (Airplane!)

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man, no time to talk.
Music loud and women warm.
I've been kicked around since I was born.
And now it's all right, it's O.K.
And you may look the other way.
We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man.

Whether you're a brother
Or whether you're a mother,
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.

Feel the city breakin'
And ev'rybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.

Ah, ha, ha, ha,
Stayin' alive.
Stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha,
Stayin' alive.

Well now, I get low and I get high
And if I can't get either I really try.
Got the wings of heaven on my shoes
I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose.
You know it's all right, it's O.K.
I'll live to see another day.
We can try to understand
The New York Times' effect on man.

Whether you're a brother
Or whether you're a mother,
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Feel the city breakin'
And ev'rybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive.

Ah, ha, ha, ha,
Stayin' alive.
Stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha,
Stayin' alive.

Life goin' nowhere.
Somebody help me.
Somebody help me, yeah.
Life goin' nowhere.
Somebody help me, yeah.

Stayin' alive

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,

What a wonderful world this would be (Harrison Ford)Witness. (WHAT A) WONDERFUL WORLD

(Cooke/Alpert/Adler)

Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about science books
Don't know much about the french I took
But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you loved me too
What a wonderful world this would be

Don't know much about geography
Don't know much trigonometry
Don't know much about algebra
Don't know what a slide rule is for
But I know that one and one is two
And if this one could be with you
What a wonderful world this would be

Now I don't claim to be an A student
But I'm tryin' to be
Oh maybe by being an A student, baby
I can win your love for me

Don't know much about history
Don't know much biology
Don't know much about science books
Don't know much about the french I took
But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you loved me too
What a wonderful world this would be

------ lead guitar ------

But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you loved me too
What a wonderful world this would be

Wow...just earlier today I was thinking about Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London." I lost my best friend Timber this past summer. For many Halloweens, we'd perform that song and he'd dutifully howl the refrain. This will be the first Halloween without him...

Timber

Since we're talking about movie music, one of the most under-rated tunes comes from a tremendously under-rated movie... Burning Bridges from Clint Eastwood's Kelly's Heroes.

Ooh. Last of the Mohicans has a beautiful soundtrack! :)

I agree. The story and the ending are so tragic I can't watch it again.

Don’t know the name of the tune (from The Great Escape), but there are words to it. It is one of those on-going, ad-lib marching tunes for soldiers. One verse I recall goes something like:

Mable,
I love you Mable.
Love you much more than I am able.
But I am giving
My love to Linda.
She is the one girl for me.

And on and on rhyming with different girl’s names.

It has a descant (counter-melody) too. I think it goes:
Fickle. Fickle.
Dollar to a nickle.
Fickle. Fickle.
She is the one girl for me.

That was great. Thanks!

I only began to notice how great Frank Sinatra was the past 10 years or so. Now I love his music. He's a real classic.

I don’t know who wrote the “The Great Escape” theme, but it reminds me of the theme from “The Bridge Over The River Kwai”. I wonder if it was written by the same person or if it was an attempt to write a similar theme.

(scratches head) Okay, I give up. Which one was that?
It's hard to keep all the Bond songs straight -- although a few of them were stinkers that didn't get a lot of airplay.

...and your tag is the WORST song The Beatles ever recorded? What's up with that?

Huh???? Which one is the worst? "AHDN" (album, and song) is one of the greatest movie soundtracks ever, as is "HELP!", which IMHO has many songs on it which could have easily been on "Rubber Soul"

BTW: you left out "Let It Be", (album version ---way better than the single), not to mention "Yellow Submarine"

"Let It Be" from the Naked album is a cleaner, purer mix ... as is what I consider one of the prettiest, most poignant songs from the Get Back sessions: "Long and Winding Road" with just Paul singing and playing piano without all that lush orchestration which weird Spector did on the original album release.

Goldfinger, by Shirley Bassey

Goldfinger. He’s the man, the man with Midas touch. A spider’s touch.
Such a cold finger. Beckons you, to enter his web of sin. But don’t go
in.

Golden words he will paw in your ear, but his lies can’t disguise what
you fear. For a golden girl knows when he’s kissed her, it’s the kiss of
death, from Mr. Goldfinger. Pretty girl, beware of his heart of gold.
This heart is cold.

Golden words he will paw in your ear, but his lies can’t disguise what
you fear. For a golden girl knows when he’s kissed her, it’s the kiss of
death, from Mr. Goldfinger. Pretty girl, beware of his heart of gold.
This heart is cold.

He loves only gold.
Only gold.
He loves gold.
He loves only gold.
Only gold.
He loves gold.

The title song sung by Shirley Bassey.

First words are, “Where are you? Why do you hide?” The background has a very atmospheric texture with strings and a triangle.

And other than disney musicals, my favorite soundtrack as a kid was "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang". I tried getting the kids to watch the original after we saw it on Broadway. My son did.

I always thought it would've been better with Julie Andrews in it, but then it would've been Mary Poppins all over again.
