Ultra-right wing Senator James Inhofe wanted to make the point that Iraq was connected to "terrorism," if not to the 9-11 hijackers per se, by talking about numerous "terrorist training facilities" that existed in Iraq, including Salman Pak "where they trained terrorists to hijack airplanes." Unfortunately for Sen. Inhofe's point, that allegation has been completely discredited by the CIA, the DIA, and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.
And Gen. Petraeus' response? Not a word. He was happy to let Inhofe's lie sit on the table, unchallenged.

Please feel free and add your FReeper threads on Salman Pak to help educate our left wing friends.
What’s an ultra-right wing ?
Anything to the right of Castro is “ultra-right wing” to them.
Akin to “Double Secret Probation” perhaps?
Being fat, drunk, and a KosKid is no way to go through life, son.
Yeah, the Iraqis, Syrians, Libyans, Iranians and Egyptians never trained terrorists. That would be against the law, ya know?
Sorry, koskids, we got the goods and you can’t swiftboat them.
Don’t let the Kossaks upset you, the Wikipedia article isn’t all that bad.
For the most part, Kossacks are completely insane and irrational. Talking to them does no good.
The article lists its references so it is as reliable as they are. Where it doesn’t list references you will have to verify it yourself.
And it isn’t as if the dailykos members are twisting the article. It has been edited about a dozen times this year. That is an extremely low edit rate for Wikipedia. Major articles will get more than a dozen edits in a week just to fix grammatical errors.
It's the wing on the starboard side of the plane at the hijacker training center in the photo of Salman Pak.
Well, I suspect there are those on the left who try to edit Wikipedia for their agenda...
I recently went to look up Alger Hiss, and the entry now states:
“He was accused of being a Soviet spy in 1948 and convicted of perjury in connection with this charge in 1950. Evidence revealed after Hiss’s conviction has added a variety of information to the case, and the question of his guilt or innocence remains controversial.[1] Some reliable sources have suggested that those who still believe in Hiss’s innocence are in the minority of scholarly opinion.”
I noticed this is quite different from what it was at one point a while back and now seems to focus more on the statements that introduce doubt that he really was a Soviet Spy, which he clearly was.
Ann Coulter was right. They never give up.
Hussain famously wrote $25,000 checks to the families of suicide bombers.
That’s NOT supporting terrorism, though.........
Right?
Of course, not.
And since when were pronouncements by the CIA considered reliable?
