HM3 Chiarini, Joshua USN said...That was back in Feb 2006. Should have known then that Chiarini would do great things. And that is a nice report at the link I placed above.
Wonderful article thank you all for your support it really helps out over here. Im a Navy Corpsman serving with the 22 MEU im on my second tour here and there is no great job I think than the chance to serve my country. I love my job as a Doc there is no greater reward than being called Doc and the thanks you get from you Marines when you save one's life. Hurrahh! America!
I could walk directly to and point out every place mentioned in this paragraph. Some of those barracks were just little moldering shacks the last time I saw them.
Semper Fi, Corpsman, thank you for your service, and warmest congratulations.

Silver Star going to Navy Hospitalman 3rd Class

All “Docs” are heroes.

I’d like to hear more about what he specifically did to get the citation, but I’m sure that’ll come out. I have no doubt that he’s a standup guy.
Damned near EVERY Corpsman serving with Grunts in harm’s way deserves a Silver Star, at LEAST.
Volunteers to serve in the military during time of war with no threat of the draft dogging him.
Volunteers to become a Corpsman, knowing that it will probably be put him in harms way.
Serving with a combat Marine unit in Iraq.
Winning the Silver Star, not an award given out like candy.
Yep, I would also conclude standup guy.
I Salute all that have served, serve now and the many that will serve in the future.
Look forward, as do you, in hearing the details.
Just to make the point that is not too obvious.
My son served with the 22 MEU (D Co) and made the point that lhis’ guys (1st Platoon, Battery G) did not sit around an arty point - they were walking patrol and working the river with the rest of the grunts.
He didn’t know the corpsman personally, he said it was known that he (medic) ‘had a lot of practice’ - which I assume means he treated a lot of his guys.
And I'll throw in three cheers for the Ocean State too ;-)
Ping!
Right on!
