This is actually the transcript of the interview Hugh had with Dr. Mohler on his show. Very interesting comments.

I am an extremely conservative So. Baptist. Bob Jones is an extremist. I can’t figure out what is going on with them. They condemned Billy Graham because he is a Baptist and his wife was Presbyterian.

I would say that perhaps you shouldn’t overestimate the importance of Bob Jones III endorsement of Mitt Romney.
Protestants are very very dogmatic, Mr. Jones can say what he will, it doesn’t neccessarily mean votes at the polls in large numbers.
When Mitt gives a speech at Bob Jones this Jan or Dec, that will be the “true” test, GWB gave one and he caught flack for it, but he also won SC.
McCain insulted Bob Jones U, and he lost in SC.

what this really does politically is that it puts Bob Jones in the position of making it a lot easier for people in other Evangelical circles to make similar moves. No -- what this really does is make it easier for many of those in the Christian community to scratch Dr Mohler and Bob Jones III off their list of credible leaders.

Did Romney accept Dr. Bob’s endorsement? I believe that
George W. Romney would not have accepted such an endorsement from the grandfather Jones in 1967. I’m just not much on a Romney or any other MI politicians of the past half century, including one in the White House from 1974-77.
