UPDATE: The city of Malibu is advising residents in Puerco Canyon to begin evacuating due to a wildfire driven by powerful winds. This area is north of Pacific Coast Highway and about 1 mile west of Pepperdine University. Residents along the beach on Malibu Road may soon be evacuated. Pacific Coast Highway is closed between Kanan-Dume Road and Topanga Canyon. Residents are advised to head to the west. Evacuation centers are being set up in the Zuma Beach area.
A wildfire driven by powerful winds in the Malibu Hills this morning threatened a university, destroyed at least one home and forced the evacuation of hundreds more, authorities said.

That was a terrible time... heavy smoke and we could see flames from Santa Monica for part of it.
I will explain it to you since your knee jerk self riotousness blinds you to the painfully obvious. Many of these people are fashionable greens. Not quite so much fun for them to actually bear the consequences of their Green dogmas. Proper conservation techniques would prevent these sort of disasters but because of their rabid Green dogmas, they prevent anything that might spoil their "pristine" environment. Kind of a case of their chickens coming home to roost.

You don't know anything about the area. Most of the rest of us do. California is desert with lots of dry grasses this time of year. The wind and weather don't respect political points of view.
Please don't tell us how very funny you are because you are not. We are concerned about the people whose lives are in danger.
Actions have consequences. Maybe next time people there will think about some of the long term consequences of their actions.

Fire crews from all over So California ...orange County... Reports that fire is moving mile and a half down the road...fire is moving unpredictable...brings back memories of 1993 Malibu Fire....
