18 is still closed going downhill. The fire is being blown down the hill away from most homes. If it crosses 18, It will burn into an area burned by the Old Fire of 2003.

One of the homes in Canyon Country now on fire, can’t see which street that is. I have friends who live in Canyon Country.

Channel 7 is focusing in on Canyon country with a classic fire front approaching several hundred homes....people are frantically evacuating...firefighters rolling in....

People leaving while firefighters are arriving is dangerours. Hope they all get out quickly and safely.
10,000 acres now.
Sun Valley structure on fire San Fernando Road, wood flooring warehouse. Aerial shows it close to brush and a main road or freeway.

I don’t know about that statement ....just heard from some Fire authority on Channel 7 a figure of 10,000 acres...I don’t know what that applies to...a single fire...or the totality of all the LA County fires....

Looking from my house (CHula Vista) to the north, there is a thick bank of smoke--that would be smoke blown west from the fire in the Ramonoa/Julian area. To the east of us is the smoke from the Campo/Potrero (Harris) fire.
The wind, though this is a Santa Ana, is cool (as in, not warm) for a typical SA.
