“Great, except Huckabee is less of a conservative than Romney is.” OK, by what rule of measure? I’m a moral conservative with some other things mixed in. My big three issues are Abortion (ending it), Homosexuality (suppressing it), and Firearms (maintaining the individula right viewpoint).

Consider the 3 elements: (1) social conservatism (2) economic conservatism (3) national security. You cannot be a conservative and be a Big Government nanny-state socialist. Your big 3 misses the Big Question: What about government taxation, regulation, spending, and power of Government over individuals and the economy?

On immigration, Huckster is for in-state tuition for illegals in Arkansas, Romney was against it. Club for Growth gave a scathing review of Huckabee's records, because Huckabee raised taxes and spending, and Romney got a better review because unlike Huckabee he didnt jump at tax increases and fought to keep spending in check. (Thompson even better mainly on spending restraint.)

Huckster's been doin' his populist thing, stirring up anti-business sentiment with populist name-calling akin to what John Edwards goes around saying. Huckabee's response to CfG's review was to call CfG 'club for greed'. Well, no, Club for Growth is one of the best groups for trying to get Republicans to stick to fiscal conservatism out there. They are RINO hunters and they have been very good.

Romney is prolife, pro-2A, supports Federal Marriage Amendment, supports overturn of Roe v Wade and appointment of the kinds of judges who will make it happen. Huck surely is as well, but you cannot be a good conservative without being a fiscal conservative. Huckabee couldnt stand behind Bush's veto of SCHIP in the debate last week, which to me was telling ... he's a 'compassionate conservative', which after 6 years of experience tells us it means he wont do a d*mn about keeping the budget in check. Meanwhile at CPAC in March, Romney pledged to keep discretionary spending to no growth at all. So looking all the factors, Romney as fiscal/economic conservative would be better than Huckabee. And on social issues as President they would not be much different.

Huckabee is a nanny government guy when it comes to health issues. Smoking, food, drink...he’s all about saving us from ourselves, whether we like it or not.

“But his hair looks good in that pic. And his tie/shirt/cufflinks/suit look terrific. Mitt also has well-proportioned hands.

He’s a very smart guy. And we could do a lot worse than to stand him up in debates and a general election campaign against Hitlery.”

Smart. Successful. Good-looking. Articulate in espousing conservative yet non-threatening/optimistic positions. Nice guy w/ nice family. Very rich.

Yeah we could do worse. There are several Senate races where we need clones of him to run.

“Personally, I love that RP supporters destroy these polls.”

LOL. Good observation.... you know, it would be quit humorous to have a mainstream poll end up having to report that Ron Paul was beating Hillary in the election. They’d shut down the whole bogus horserace polloganda pronto.

“There has to be some objected measure by which this can be judged.”

Really, there isn’t. If their campaign was helped, they did okay. But it is hard to measure. Some people do “great” in a debate then lose the election. Well did they ‘win’ the debate after all? If someone is shilling for ‘their guy’ saying how great they did not matter what, then it’s spin just like the post-debate spin-room spin.

the road back to full health is a little longer than if he had simply had it treated...

That is Bush's fault, for not expanding SCHIP enough to cover him.

If Hillary, Kennedy, Obama, Edwards, Pelosi, Reid, et al had only been listened to, and heeded, SCHIP would have had enough funds to cover every child of moderate means, (less than $500,000/year earned family income) whther citizen, legal resident, or 'undocumented immigrant', between the ages of 1 minute and 87 years of age.

“I will not vote for someone that has a false god”

You didn’t answer my question as to whether you refuse to also vote for Catholics and Jews. Is this bigotry selective or all-encompassing? To wit: And do you exclude Jews and Catholics or this is anti-mormon only? Why one and not the other?

And do you think I, as a Catholic, should stick to voting only for Catholics instead of supporting Evangelicals who might share my values but not my sectarian faith?

There has to be some [objective] measure by which this can be judged.
***That’s why I post Intrade results before & after the debates. This time around I couldn’t get a “before” snapshot.

The latest debate showed that Thompson lost and Huckabee won.

http://www.intrade.com/jsp/intrade/contractSearch/

As far as I can tell, it’s the best way to determine the winner with an unbiased approach.

There are plenty of interesting characters in football, still.

Heck, the Skins have Chris Cooley who is strange and fun like Riggo but since he’s a TE, he doesn’t get the ball as much.

Then again, if you’re being selective and playing to your agenda rather than the facts, I could see how you might think you’re being clever.

LOL. Good observation.... you know, it would be quit humorous to have a mainstream poll end up having to report that Ron Paul was beating Hillary in the election. They’d shut down the whole bogus horserace polloganda pronto.

I keep thinking the RP folk have got them so used to being spammed, it would be funny to let them have one of their little polls and then boycott it. Absolutely no RP votes registered. Sean Hannity would think the Apocalypse had come. He'd know for sure those Ron Paul People were out to get him.

Some of this stuff with RP supporters has become a humorous cat-and-mouse thing with the websites and the bloggers and the news organizations. Some of them just write something, most anything, just to bait the RPers into slamming into their site and drive their hit counters up and their ad revenue. I saw one blogger who only posted "Ron Paul, Ron Paul, Ron Paul" just as a test of the so-called Ron Paul Effect. They melted his server that weekend. What a hoot.

For a while, they were grouchy with Laura Ingraham because when she introed the candidates at the Ames straw poll, she failed to pledge her undying love for Ron Paul or something. Then they forgot about her for a while and she said something rather nice about Ron Paul. They just loved it and they got together on a ChipIn (chipin.com) and quickly bought flowers and dispatched a nice tax accountant in a suit to buy her book, get her to sign it and present her with a nice patriotic bouquet. Of course, they got pics. It was a nice love-bomb event and Laura seemed pleased.

Anyway, for all the whining about those Dirty Hippies that support Ron Paul, it's a very young crowd. In that bunch, you're old if you're over thirty, I think. They're very web-savvy. They kind of remind me of how FR was in the old days. They're very creative too, spawning all kinds of websites. RonPaulGraphs.com shows his website's fundraising on a live feed and offers over forty different fundraising graphs. RonPauloween.com is their site to promote Ron Paul on Halloween by handing out candy while distributing subversive Ron Paul literature to the parents with the plan being for one Paulite to hand out the candy and ooh over the kids' costumes while the second Paulite hands out slim-jim Ron Paul propaganda to the waiting parents (so they get to work the crowd in pairs just like a real cult!). LOL.

Just today, they launched RonPaulSpace.com. It's a complete custom MySpace.com site, very slick, expertly designed, all dedicated to (you guessed it) Ron Paul. Just when you think you've seen it all, well, you ain't. They're a very busy bunch.

They're really fun kids, very determined, very single-minded about Ron Paul. I think Ron Paul is still trying to figure out exactly how he got so lucky for them to rise up and support him like this. But, as he says, it's the message more than it is him personally. What he brings though is his unwavering record in Congress so they believe he'll actually do what he says he will. But in many ways, the Ron Paul campaign belongs to those young people. And I think that's fine with Ron Paul. He could hardly be happier, I think. Well, unless they got him $20 million dollars maybe. But those young people are his political legacy. And if the planets align just right, maybe he can have an impact on the race and on national policy or even become president.

Honestly, I don't grasp why people get so tweaked over RP and his supporters. Ron Paul does a lot of good talking about sound money and Austrian economics and liberty and small-government. It surprises him and everyone else that they're so interested. Really, really interested. Yeah, in Austrian economics of all things. Well, there are a lot worse things for young people to be interested in than Austrian economics.

Excellent observation. No one is suggesting that we worship together or ecumenize, not with each other, not with the Mormons. Let each group believe what they believe and practice their faith.

But we should vote together because our faith and traditions bring us together in a common cause to preserve the family, fight abortion, promote morality, etc.

Maybe Mitt isn't our best candidate against Hitlery. Maybe he has flipflopped too much or just has too mixed and complicated a record. Then let him fail for that reason, not because someone thinks he's running to become the Ayatollah Mitt and marry 20 virgins in the Rose Garden.

Romney flip but he never flop

Snipped
Yesterday, Romney refused to elaborate on that description, saying instead: ''I don't want to get into a philosophical discussion of a federal law and a case that's been in the books for 30 years, and that is distracting from my agenda." He added, ''I oppose abortion, but I will maintain the laws as they exist in Massachusetts."

There was no discussion on the future laws, and Romney in his personal life has always been Pro life!

I will not vote for someone that has a false god and that believes he will be a god, and that believes jesus and Lucifer are brothers both conceived by the god of this world and his wives.

If he can buy that crap he is not suitable to run this country.

You say you have ears to hear, what about eyes to see?

What about knowing and understanding the scriptures in the Bible?

The LDS have always believed that Jesus Christ was the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD!

There is none other!

Job 38
1 THEN the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?

3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.

4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?

6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;

7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Isaiah 14
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

Romans 8
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

He has not spoken to much of those things in the later debate as he did in the first!

The deception in your post are manifest.

You say you have ears to hear, what about eyes to see? What about knowing and understanding the scriptures in the Bible? The LDS have always believed that Jesus Christ was the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD!

Ahhh indeed he is the ONLY son that was born of a virgin via the father here on earth.(Some Mormons have believed that was via a sexual act between "god the father" and mary, and therefore count her as one of his eternal wives on the planet Kolab now.

But in the 3rd heavens Christ is actually a spirit child of you god the father and one of his wives. The spirit child competed with his brother spirit child Lucifer for the opportunity to be the 'savior" of he world.

There was a war in heaven over this and the spirit brother of christ. lucifer was cast out of the heavens with his army. early mormons taught that was the beginning of the black race, those were the spirit children that rebelled. That was why no black men were allowed in the priesthood I believe. Being born white meant at least you did not rebel as a spirit child.
