Sounds like a wonderful place to be. Shhhhh...don’t tell anyone where you are.
This country was built on neighbors, then small towns. If we could keep that atmosphere in the big cities, and really worked to protect and provide in critical situations, even the cities would be livable.

Just saw one man on TV that was going back into his burned out home after the fire. Someone had already been in there and ransacked his wife’s jewelry.
That is the other pestilence we need to get rid of.

The Southern Baptists have teams already set up to go where needed. It is neighbor helping neighbor or fellow citizens. Disaster drills take place about every 6 months with victims, etc. Our tv stations all have radar to track tornadoes or thunderstorms. We know hours ahead of time where a tornado is headed and if action is needed, we take it. The stations learned their lesson back in 74 when a tornado knocked all of the tv stations off the air so they all have generators, now. People complain about the coverage especially if it is in the day time but I had rather know where a storm is headed than watching bed swapping on tv.

I think churches are proper groups to take the lead.
However, not all do.
And, we HAVE a FREEPER community . . . of sorts. Very loosely connected generally but . . . caringly so, I think.
We could do better at being prepared to help one another as well as our neighbors, I suspect.
Allowing the Sierra club and the Clinton liberal left to determine the fate and care of our forests is like letting Michael Jackson babysit your preteen sons for two weeks unsupervised.

However, it is my opinion that the globalists have set the environmentalists against the hunters and conservatives just as they have the blacks against the whites; hispanics against both; homosexuals against straights; Atheists against Christians; etc. etc. . . . they are intent on fracturing and shredding our culture and our society . . . our Nation, in fact. Special interest groups—especially the loonier the better—serve that purpose very well.

There’s so much I agree with in your words . . . even a measure of the last sentence.
However, as Pogo said . . . WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY AND HE IS US.
As a Christian, the message of THE CROSS is that the monster is in all of us. Only through Christ’s Blood and walking in His Spirit is the monster dealt with.
Yes, there are individuals who’ve sold out to the monster. Shrillery seems to be such a creature.
But we must be careful in our judgments and especially in our quickness to administer punishment. Vengeance is STILL THE LORD’S. If we are not in HIS SERVICE as HIS AUTHORITY, we are in as much trouble as the evil doers, or near so.
I don’t know that I have an answer to that in any rule-of-thumb way. I just know that the spiritual and tangible dangers in that are extreme and very real.
I do believe we shall live to see the day not tooooo far off, when children shall say—something akin to:
“YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE WAYS OF THE WORLD—AND THE WORLD SHALL SWALLOW YOU UP—NOW!” And it shall happen immediately that the ground will open up and gobble the evil doers wholesale and rather instantly without the least bit of a recourse.
But for such children to walk in such anointing, they must be sold out to God 100% and walking 100% in His will sensitive to His Holy Spirit’s voice within them.
How many of us walk that close to God today? I don’t.
I have felt and observed similar examples of God’s power flow through me in isolated rare incidents to less dramatic degrees but still dramatic aplenty to sober my socks off.
But most of us don’t pay the spiritual price in fasting, prayer, right living in all our relationships sufficient to walk in that kind of anointing. I think God is going to be cleaning folks up and requiring such from the inside out. Then we shall see such things routinely. What His schedule is on that, I don’t know.
IN THE MEAN TIME . . . there is more we can do with what we have and as we are. That’s what this thread is about. How can we brain-storm, stragegize, prepare for a wide range of disasters as wise, alert, informed-way-above-average FREEPERS?
I’m tired of seeing the crazy liberals on ATS push the envelop further on prep than we FREEPERS have.
We are far better and should be doing better, imho.
I can sympathesize with the seDiments . . . however, we don’t need the extra scrutiny such articulations trigger within the vast computer watchers of the elite.
There’s plenty we can do quite lawfully and non-violently to prepare.
And, where at all workable, violence is to be avoided. There’s no merit in it for violence sake nor for venting one’s spleen’s sake.

We need to rid this country of those that are here only to serve themselves, to abuse our giving ways and our support systems.
If they cannot become a viable part of the community, and help instead of being a hindrance, they must be removed.
We must help those who want help to get on their feet.
My mom had a great saying:
“God helps those who help themselves.
But, God help those He catches helping themselves.”
