No, this is good. This vote needed 60 votes to end the debate and send it out for final vote where it then needs simple majority - 51.

A defeat keeps it away from being voted into law.

Yeah you know, I swear I have an undiagnosed, slight affliction of dyslexia. Things like this always confuse me. Where “no” means Good and “yes” means Bad. I can’t explain it. Anyway, thank God sanity ruled.

Greeks nod for NO and shake their heads for YES.

No offense to Greeks!

Rejecting the Cloture motion means it cannot move forward. It is dead!! FOR NOW.

I’ve been conflicting reports on McCaskill...several said she voted no.

It’s not up on the Senate website yet.

It means that debate is not cut off for the purpose of voting on the bill itself. It means it is ‘temporarily’ dead ... until Dingy Harry brings it back, if he does.

Exactly. It's good news, but prepare for the next skirmish.

I’ve been conflicting reports on McCaskill...several said she voted no.

I heard Aye on C-Span and was astonished because she made a big deal of her first NO vote, a few months ago.

Unless she changed her vote as some did to cover their asses, she voted Aye today.

Our calls this morning must have sealed the deal. Good team, huh?

I actually called her office and congratulated her afterwards.
