How about two birds with one stone?

Anyone earning under 200K qualifies for SCHIP.
Anyone earning over 200K pays for it.

Here we go again. The socialist libs BUYING VOTES with redistribution of wealth. Thanks again to the voters of 2006 who sank America’s ship and turned the helm over to a bunch of socialist, power-mad nutjobs who just want to steal from America’s producers and REAL taxpayers and give it to America’s “less-than-producers” who pay only a small percentage of America’s confiscatory tax burden.

Yeah sure why not? have less people pay taxes and pile more on the backs of the producers and then sit around and wonder (applaud in the Democrat-Socialist case), why this country is going to hell in a hand basket. More people on welfare, more anger and resentment, higher prices, more feeling entitled, less responsibility and more apathy, less people voting all brought to you by class envy crap.

Way to go Democrat-Socialist!

Everyone with *any* amount, and type,of income should pay some federal income tax...even if it’s 10 dollars. This will create a spirit of “community” (ahem...sorry!) that will cause the RATS untold trouble each and every election day.

Why do all the new tax schemes punish achievement ? Its about time that the lower income levels start paying some taxes instead of putting it all on the individuals who REALLY earned their income ( except Hollywood of course )

Getting rid of the AMT is great.

But reduce spending to make up for it...don't soak the rich.

If you soak the rich, tax revenues decrease because production decreases. Get it,Rangel?

“The $1 trillion bill proposed by Rep. Charles Rangel, chairman of the Ways and Means Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives, would also reduce taxes for millions of middle- and low-income taxpayers.”

***

Yeah...riiiiiiiiiiiiight....

And even if that were true, what new tax (or fee or assessment) will take place of these “reduced taxes.”

“The top U.S. congressional tax writer proposed sweeping tax legislation on Thursday that would repeal a tax for the rich that has been hitting more middle-class Americans and replace it with a new tax on high-income earners. “

***

Socialism at its finest.

And as we all know, a “rich” person or ‘high income earner” is usually defined by the liberals as anyone making more than $2.00 per hour.

House Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) has a proposal that eliminates the AMT without replacing it with a tax elsewhere. Haven't seen word one about it anywhere....

Just for the record, federal revenue has increased from $1.7 trillion per year in 2003 to $2.5 trillion per year in 2007. The federal government is flush with cash. We just need to get spending under control.

Federal revenue is: individual income taxes, corporate taxes, and custom duties.

When people don’t pay taxes, they don’t care what happens to the money, as long as they get their share.

That’s what the Dims want: A nanny state and nobody but the “rich” care.

I like Neal Boortz’s description of the tax plan:

We are going to give away more stuff to people who vote for us, and take stuff from people who do not vote for us so we can give more to our people.

This is great ammo for 2008 elections. Drudge headline:

'Largest individual income tax increase in American history'...

Thanks Charlie. I'm not sure if promises of tax increases have ever gotten anyone elected. It didn't work for GH Bush (promised not to but did anyway), or Kerry, or Dukakis. I'm sure there are plenty more and probably a few exceptions but I'm glad they're saying it now and not in '09.

If I were the Pubs that would be my headline for the election.
