Correction...the Madonna stamp is “Madonna and child” - this seems to reflect a bit of a Catholic perspective,

How is that a "Catholic perspective" as opposed to a Christian perspective? What would be a Christian perspective? Santa Claus?

In college I dated a girl who was Baptist. I’m Catholic.

Things were going along ok, till about two months into the dating, we started talking about where this was leading...she said that it wasn’t going to go far because I was going to Hell because I was a Catholic.

It pretty much ended the relationship right then and there.

It's pretty subtle - and not a very big deal - but you don't hear Protestants using the term Madonna much. They'd be more likely to title the same work of art "Jesus and Mary" or something like that. Subtle and minor, and moot, since it turns out the painting in question predates the Reformation.
