Clinton Signs AIDS Financing Pledge

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton just signed a pledge that commits the next president to investing $50 billion by 2013 to combat AIDS around the world. She is also planning to deliver a formal policy on AIDS.

Gay and lesbian activists have been asking the presidential candidates to sign the pledge, which is being circulated by a global AIDS alliance.

Among the Democratic candidates, only Bill Richardson had signed the pledge. John Edwards and Barack Obama have issued AIDS plans and have agreed to many of the pledge’s goals but have not signed it.

ACT UP, a coalition of gay and lesbian activists, had been planning a demonstration against Mrs. Clinton on Tuesday in Philadelphia, where the Democratic presidential candidates are meeting for a debate. Some activists had been complaining that she had not signed the pledge.

Has anyone totaled up just how much new spending Queen Hillary has promised to spend once they anoint her in Jan 2009?

Who knows. AIDS is a perfectly preventable disease but mentioning prevention would get in the way of the Gay Lifestyle and that takes precedence over keeping people safe from a disease that can kill them.

One of her goals is to bankrupt the United States. Please, everyone, keep praying that she is not elected!

"...commits the next president to investing $50 billion by 2013 to combat AIDS around the world..."

Just how is that an "investment"?

She just wants to take $50,000,000,000, throw gasoline over it, and burn it. Telling people to avoid buggery would cost about $0.

If you have ANY doubts about how politicized our “Free” healthcare will become, just take a look at this. A PC donation to the Aids “industry” in return for support..

If you get something utterly un-PC like Prostate Cancer, you might as well go to Mexico, because the assets will all go to idiot things like this...

Combat “AIDS around the world.” More dollars leaving our country and heading to places like Africa. For all the screaming the Dems do about our jobs leaving the country, they certainly want to commit the tax-dollars of our hard-working citizens to leaving the country. History has shown that tax-dollars poured into places like Africa serve only to pad the pockets of tyrants and dictators, but the press chooses NOT to follow that story seeing as how it might not serve to advance the Dem agenda.

For that matter is there any reports that gives the total amounts of government and non-government spending on AIDs in Africa and in the ESA?? From what I have seen it appears to be astronomical.!

I think it’s great if Hilary Clinton wants to invest $50 Billion, as long as it’s her own money. She has no authority or right to “pledge” other peoples money. This is another example of the totalitarian impulse that equates political power with complete ownership and control of all things great or small. She can pledge our money, she can take our things away and give them to her minions(for the common good of course), the White House furnishings belong to her not the people, campaign laws apply to challengers not to her.

Tattooing a skull and crossbones below the belt on people with AIDS would save millions of lives.

In a 1980s column, WFB, Jr. proposed a tattoo on the arses of AIDS infected people to warn wannabe participants of dangerous liaisons.

Can't remember what the tattoo would be though.

whoa...let's stop here for just a moment, can we? In what capacity has she signed this "pledge?" And upon whom is it thought to be binding?

Hillary, this is like a little girl dressing as a grown up. You're not president, ma'am. And even though you have all the machinery in the known world behind you, you may never be president, ever.
