Mitt Romney Tries To Strengthen Fla. Vote

(CBS4) NAPLES -- Days after a poll showed his support in Florida waning, Mitt Romney and his trailing black Suburban joined a procession of swamp buggies, all-terrain vehicles and high school marching bands in the annual Swamp Buggy Parade on Saturday.

The Republican presidential contender shook hands, kissed babies and let dogs sniff his knuckles during the almost hour-long trek through Naples. Residents sitting on picnic chairs along the route angled to see him and snap photographs.

This is the former Massachusetts governor's 18th campaign trip to the Sunshine State, but a recent poll from Quinnipiac University showed him in last place among the top Republican candidates, with 12 percent voter support.

Rudy Giuliani remained ahead of the pack with 30 percent; John McCain and Fred Thompson were tied with 14 percent.

If McCain and Romney drop out, it may become very interesting here ...

But will they?

Is it true about Edwards and Romney starting their own party?
It will be called the good “hair club for men” pseudo popularity political party.

I think Romney will be in it until the bitter end .
The question is, will the Huckster’s rise in the polls doom Romney’s campaign ?

With McPain , it’s hard to tell if he would ride it all the way . I just can’t believe he still has any support after the Amnesty debacle , who are these people ?

McCain’s is way over. He obviously just hasn’t gotten around to reading the memo yet. Thompson’s candidacy is really just a joke waiting for the final punch line (sorry kids, it just wasn’t meant to be). The other bottom feeders...no way, forget about them. That leaves Roody and Mit. Take you pick cause them’s the choices.

Conservatives will never vote for Rudy.

Rudy's nominated = 3rd party

Romney moves into second place in this Florida Poll. Polls are like opinions, everybody has one.

You have two choices -- Rudy or Mitt.

Like it or don't, believe it or not, but that is the reality.

ROFL. OK Mom, I'll eat my broccoli.

There's no way in Hell I'm voting for Rudy. Mitt would have to choose Duncan Hunter or Santorum as VP for me to vote for him.

If Mitt wants to lock up Florida, he should select Jeb Bush as his VP.

HOW TO STEAL AN ELECTION

EXCERPT Operation Snowbird; Lawyer urges snowbirds to cast their votes in Florida

Palm Beach Post | 9-19-2004 | Mary McLachlin

BOCA RATON—----Lawrence Caplan learned an important political lesson: You can live in one state and vote in another. Caplan, a tax and corporate lawyer, has turned that lesson into Operation: Snowbird, an Internet tool designed to make a difference in the election of 2004 — if Democratic voters in New York and New Jersey respond to it. All they have to do, according to Caplan's Web site, www.operationsnowbird.com, is switch their registrations to Florida, where their votes are more likely to be needed..... than in the deep "blue" states up north. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/content/news/epaper/2004/09/19/m1a_snowbirdvotes_0919.html

GIULIANI BANDWAGON BRANCHES OUT TO ISRAEL
By MAGGIE HABERMAN, NY Post, April 21, 2007

EXCERPT A group of Israelis has launched a grass-roots effort to get people living in the Jewish state who are eligible to vote in the United States to line up behind Rudy Giuliani, it was reported yesterday.

The group, Giuliani Supporters in Israel, was launched by Mordechai Twersky, a onetime candidate for state Assembly in The Bronx in the early 1990s, according the Jerusalem Post. Twersky has established a Web site, giulianisupportersinisrael.org, with background information including Giuliani's famed eviction of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat from a Lincoln Center concert in 1995. "I did this as a private personal initiative, as a proud American and Israeli citizen, and I am confident that it will catch on," Twersky told the paper.

He said the campaign hadn't set up his group, but that he's been in contact with Team Giuliani since he got started. Giuliani has historically been popular with Jewish voters, and took a hard pro-Israel line when he was in office. Giuliani's campaign didn't return The Post's calls for comment.

In some past elections, planeloads of Israelis with American citizenship have flown to the United States to vote.

the reality is that mitt will come in perhaps ahead of huckabee and otherwise dead last.

The Florida polls are not very accurate at this time, but mitt’s support here is quite illusionary.

Fla Dems kept counting and counting and counting...........right there on broadcast TV.

Golly, the Dems were going to keep counting until they got the numbers they needed to win.........maybe even find a buncha votes in used pizza boxes.

Too bad the USSC stepped in to stop the crooked count (/sarc).

Anything is possible given the way this race is shaping up .

I do think that Senator Bill Nelson might be on Hillary’s VP short list , as I suspect she will pick a so-called “moderate” Dim from a Red State . She has to pick up a Red State somewhere.... Ohio , Virginia , Florida .

No way will Nelson be her VP pick.

He might be on her short list to tease naive Floridians to vote for her instead of Rooty.

Nelson is way too conservative for her administration.

>>>If Mitt wants to lock up Florida, he should select Jeb Bush as his VP.<<<

And lose every other state in the general...

No more Bushes. Ever. Granted, Jeb seems more on top of things than George. But the name has just too much baggage with it now. Bush definitely got something things right. He just wasn’t the salesman we needed in the White House the past 8 years.

In a general election he would fit the bill perfectly.

Obviously if she picks a VP from a Red state it’s because that VP choice appears Moderate and might appeal to some RedStaters .
Nelson became a Lib after he hit the National scene as a Senator , as most of them do . He is not a Conservative by any means .

Algore is a perfect example of what happens to a Conservative Dim who makes it up the Dim food chain .
