When Rudy Giuliani was U.S. attorney, he came within a single vote of having a mob contract put on his head, according to a memo read in court Wednesday.
That was one vote I won, I guess, Giuliani responded Thursday on Mike Gallaghers syndicated radio show.

Just heard the news that RINO-rudy may have had a few Mafia contracts out on him in 1986 or so. Here's how and where the story most likely originated...
RINO-rudy handler: We're not getting enough attention from the media today. What kind of BS can we pull out of our asses today? Keep in mind, we've milked the 9/11 and "America's Mayor" thing too much already.
RINO-rudy: How about rehashing the fact that I may have had some hits out on me by the mob? Everybody LOVES "The Sopranos", and they'll feel sorry for me and remember how tough I was on the mafia when I was in lawr enforcement (read that, a tax-funded jack-booted-thug / ambulance-chaser).
RINO-rudy handler: O.K. boss. I'll get right on it.
RINO-rudy: Make sure they can't track the "news" flash back to our campaign.
RINO-rudy handler: Right, mein fuhrer.
This just in... Kent Brockman reporting--
Sources say Tony Soprano said... "That's because we didn't have a vote and you best worry more about the Clinton Mafia. They have a really mean bitch has head of the familty there! She put a Monica look-a-like head in Bill's bed in the White House!"
Film... at 11!
I heard three first grade classmates of Rudolph Giuliani at St Anne’s were planning to beat him up but called it off once they found out the lunch lady was handing out fudge pops. Besides they didn’t want to fight a kid who’s dad had a home in Sing Sing.
Tom Dewey had a similar experience, via the Dutchman. Wonder if Rudy’s political career will go the same way.
I love how SUDDENLY we found out about this “hit” less than 24 hours after Rudy’s huge gaffe of “rooting for the Red Sox”, and the resulting fury that erupted in NYC.
80s Plot to Hit Giuliani? Mob Experts Doubt It(snip)
But the details of the reported plot are curious. According to Mr. DeVecchios notes, Mr. Scarpa said the discussion took place around September 1986. At the time, Mr. Scarpa was a lowly soldier in the Colombo family, not likely to be invited to meetings of the top bosses.
His source of information is generally surmised to be Alphonse Persico, who later engaged in a bloody struggle for control of the family. Mr. Persico and Mr. Gotti, the two supposed yes voters, were not great friends: Mr. Gotti supported a rival faction in the Colombo war. And in his own many trials, Mr. Gotti was not known to threaten prosecutors or judges.
Im pretty sure hes right on when he says Carmine Persico wanted to kill Rudy Giuliani, said Jerry Capeci, who writes the authoritative Mafia Web site ganglandnews.com. I find it difficult to believe that John Gotti would have gone along with the proposal.
In fact, the idea of any collaboration among the bosses in late 1986 strains credulity, experts said. At the time, Mr. Gotti had just reached the top of the Gambino family after organizing the killing of the boss, Paul Castellano, an act that could have impeded normal diplomacy for a while.
As if we needed further proof that baseball is asinine.
Like who really cares?
This happened in 86’.
Rudy and team must really be desparate to take the attention of his bad performances in the debates and his lackluster standing in the polls for Mr. Invincible!
So what. He was dealing with the mob.
Like Bill and Hillary’s drug trade got a lot of people dead.
Sure did divert the attention away from his ‘guns for the blind’, didn’t it?
How do we persuade the mob to vote on a hit of Mrs. Clinton?
It's just bs put out by the Rooty camp to make him look tough.
an aside: Is Rooty running for POTUS or U.S. Attorney General?
