The human race will one day split into two separate species, an attractive, intelligent ruling elite and an underclass of dim-witted, ugly goblin-like creatures, according to a top scientist.

From my observations; the human race has already degenerated into several sub species. But it’s taboo to even suggest such a thing.

This was already predicted in “The Time Machine,” but the ugly munchkins living underground took care of the pretty people above ground, but killed them off while they were young so they could have them as food to eat.

Given that the signal characteristic of speciation is inability to interbreed, I'd say this is more than a little unlikely. That aside, we shouldn't be too certain that the silly old socialist Wells had the good guys and the bad guys in the right order or for the right reason. Neal Stepehenson made a fair case that the Morlocks were the good guys in In The Beginning Was The Command Line. John Edwards strikes me as a pretty representative Eloi - cover-girl pretty and as useless as teats on a bull. If that's the direction the human race is headed I'm awfully glad I won't be there to see it.

It’s not ncessarily the trailer living trash that are reproducing more (although they may be happening in some places). Instead, it’s Bible believing, strong families who are conservative in orientation. They are having more children and are able to properly raise them to perpetuate a civilized concept of society. So, the future is really brighter than this article presupposes, unless we allow ourselves to be overrun with low-IQ peasant midgets who haven’t come that far from their pagan-worshipping, human-sacrifcing, troglodyte ancestors and who refuse to assimilate and want to eradicate the superior American culture and language. This is exactly what is currently happening because the mentally deficient elite, who while indoctrinated at elite universities, are deficient in thinking ability and tend to embrace mindless socialism and multiculturalism and an amorphous “peace” as a remedy for everything because it “feels” right and not because they can analyze anything more complicated politically than the scientific equivalent of boiling water. Oh, and yes, they hate everything American, Western, civilized and Jewish (including Israel) or Christian.

That is the thing with a lot of people who deride or insult people they believe to be beneath them. Don't they realize that to another, they're the 'lesser' human?

Sort of suggests that if you wish to be respected, you should respect others.

Subspecies have distinct, unique characteristics. Human 'races' (if that is what you're getting at) don't have that, although some characteristics are more common in one group than the next. They closest you would get would be very small groups of people with genetic diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, but then you would have to separate that very tiny group from its larger one ('race') and make it is own subspecies, which is not such a great idea, because people with cystic fibrosis (or other genetic diseases) would probably marry and have children with non-cystic fibrosis people, and their children would have a cystic fibrosis allele and a non-cystic fibrosis allele. Only if you sequestered (or quarantined) a group of pure cystic fibrosis carriers, would you create a group that might be considered a full-fledged subspecies--which could merge into the mainstream society and their subspecies disappear (as other freepers here have posted, it's about segregation; if you segregate a population, they could eventually turn into a subspecies or another species. Without segregation that is not probably going to happen).

It isn't just because it's non-PC (which it is) to make that suggestion, it's also an irrational suggestion not based on scientific observation and research.

What will happen is that male astronauts will travel to space only to slip through a worm hole and return to earth 10,000 years from now. When they return, they find that the earth is populated by only women who are 6’-0” and weigh 145 pounds. And of course, the measurements of the women will be 38C-27-38.

Why would splitting into subspecies be a degeneration? Wouldn’t it merely be increased biological diversity to occupy several ecological niches, thus increasing the robustness of humanity as a whole? And isn’t the whole idea rather silly?
