Ron Paul is scheduled to make an appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday, October 30 and after taping the Republican presidential hopeful will hold a fundraiser at a private residence in the Hollywood Hills.
There are some talks that have suggested that Paul would like to parlay his late night appearance on Jay Leno into a spot on a day-time program that would further bolster his appeal and name recognition.
Paul has seen a tremendous boost in donations to the Ron Paul 2008 Hope for America campaign following each of his national appearances.
The Ron Paul fundraising event after the Tonight Show is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.9:30 p.m.
Why is everyone making such a fuss over this 1%’er?
Maybe because he's done well in a number of Republican caucuses -- while the "1 percent" refers to MSM polls, which usually aren't given homage and veneration on FR. I'm not sure how many state or county straw polls or caucses that Paul has won or done well in, but it's quite a few -- more, possibly, than Rudy himself. In my mind, that counts, at this stage, for more than what CBS or NBC says about their hypothetical polling of hypothetical races.
Nobody is but the 1%’ers and the liberal media who is pushing anything they can on the anti-war isolationist hero boy of the left.
As long as they can get a voice into the debates each time and keep the funds coming in for him to keep going out there on the road until Feb/March they will do so.
Paul is going to lose...badly. Very badly. A straw poll of 300 people is not the same as full on primaries.
Truth is, it's the liberal media polls - NBC, NYTimes, etc - that have Paul in small numbers (1 percent or less), but when Real Republican Activists show up at caucuses or straw polls, he does well. So MSM isn't pushing him, it's the Republican party members who've been voting in caucuses or straw polls.
OK, but we haven't had any primaries yet - only straw polls, and he's done well so far. The only other measurement at this point - where he's not doing well, I admit - are mainstream media (i.e. drive-by media) polls. That's what you're basing your statements on - the Mainstream Media. I don't let the MSM set my agenda. Neither does Ron Paul, it seems.
Liberals have always called real conservatives, "nuts." It's nothing new.
I think we can all concede that he’s not going to win the primary, but his ideas on the WOT are a valid minority point of view which should be expressed.
Which is why they like Ron Paul so much - a true liberal badgering those conservatives within their party.
He can express them but they certainly aren't valid. 9/11 is no big deal - just the same as highway accidents, Iran is just misunderstood and we should listen to them, etc. Nonsensical.
LOL I wonder why he doesn’t do it on the 31st. On Halloween, that would suit Ron Paul better I think.
“I can’t remember such bashing of a conservative Republican candidate by other Republicans, since liberal Republicans were calling Goldwater a nut, back in 1964. Cancel that: some of the also same liberals called Reagan a nut when he ran for president, so there’s more than one precedent for the way the liberals are bashing Ron Paul.”
You were better off with the first thought...
He’s a loon....the kucinich of the right...
not a conservative, just a nut. rp. ross perot. ron paul. let’s hope another rp does elect a clinton.
It’s your right to call them invalid, but that doesn’t make it so— the fact that you can scare up a vast number of libs and a fair number of cons who believe the same thing, pretty much makes it a “valid point of view.”
Just sayin’...
Money bomb on November 5th will bring in another $3 - 5 million, conservative estimates. The media attention from that will probably bring Paul another $2 million before Thanksgiving.
Post-Thanksgiving and holiday push will bring in at least another $5 million.
That's up to $20 million for the 4Q that Dr. Paul will raise. That's front-runner money. That's more money raised than Fred, Rudy or Romney and it makes McCain & Huckabee's totals look like pennies in a mayonnaise jar.
Paul's fundraising has increased each quarter while the other candidate's totals have declined. With the primaries starting in January, possibly in December, the other aren't going to have the momentum that Paul has. I'm not saying he's going to win, but he could give the other candidates headaches.
The only thing Paul is wrong on is the war and maybe his monetary policy. Calling him a liberal is flat-out disingenuous, but it's the norm that FReepers adopt the Left's debating tactics when Paul is the topic.
And that’s the focus of the campaign and where he is attracting support, multiple appearances on Alex Jones and association with his 9/11 truth brigade, etc.
I deal in facts - you deal in emotion. If you can’t deal with it, that’s too bad.
