Howie still in limbo radio wise though he talked about some of his fave food on Phantom Gourmet this weekend. His column from today's Herald was part of last week's running thread.

There was talk that WNSH AM 1570 in Beverly would have the Satellite Sisters at 3 pm weekdays and I did notice they were on, but apparently acc. to the ‘NSH site
3-6 pm is now Tammy Bruce, syndicated from Talk Radio network (she has done fill ins for
Laura Ingraham).
Her site describes her as “an openly homosexual, pro-choice, gun owning, pro-death penalty, voted-for-President Bush progressive feminist” and a “lifelong Democrat”.
Hmm...

Does anyone know if Howie could appear as a fill-in host on other programs, maybe for the MahaRushie?
His lawyers are probably advising against it, though maybe he
could do shows for stations outside Boston. Jay Severin
did some fill in work after his orig. WTKK contract
expired. Howie had done shows a few years ago for KFI
(Sat. afternoons our time, Sat mornings their time) via
ISDN line.
As for filling in for Rush, don’t know; I do remember
Howie made fun of Rush a bit during the Oxys controversy
and I wonder if that turned off Rush’s people...or if
he just never bothered to offer up his services (or
they never contacted him). Suppose back then they had
contacted Howie to be on; he could have filled in for
Rush and had someone like VB fill in for him.
Interesting idea.

Just because you saw - or think you saw - a UFO doesn’t make you crazy.
It’s admitting to the world that you think you saw a UFO that indelibly brands you as, well, Dennis Kucinich.
So moderator Tim Russert put another scalp on his belt at the Democratic debate the other night, getting the moonbat Ohio congressman to admit that yes, he did indeed see something.
Is anyone surprised? This is a guy who said earlier this week that George Bush needs a mental evaluation. File under, pot-calling-kettle-black syndrome.
Kucinich’s defense is that Jimmy Carter also once saw a flying saucer. Yeah, but Carter saw a killer rabbit, too.
The one thing you can say for Kucinich is that, unlike Carter, at least he didn’t out himself. Russert’s staff found the smoking gun in, of all places, a book by Shirley MacLaine. Kucinich was in Graham, Washington, visiting Warren Beatty’s wacky sister - she believes in reincarnation.
He smelled roses, Shirley wrote, went out onto the balcony and “saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him. It hovered, soundless, for 10 minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn’t comprehend.”
Shirley, there are many things in this world that Dennis Kucinich cannot comprehend. Working for a living would be one of them. Now it gets even worse in Shirley’s recollection for Kucinich.
“He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind.”
He got directions from a flying saucer? Beam him up, Scotty.
Now, I go back a ways with Dennis Kucinich. Back in the late 1970s, he was the Boy Mayor of Cleveland. Remember a local group called Fair Share?
The boss of Fair Share, Mike Ansara, flew in the Boy Wonder to what I recall was a fund-raiser on Melville Avenue in Dorchester. This was before Ansara moved to Carlisle and pleaded guilty to mail fraud, but I digress.
What I remember about Kucinich the Saturday I interviewed him is that he was quite full of himself. He wasn’t taking directions from anyone, least of all a purple people-eater. In the months to come, I enjoyed following His Honor’s descent into oblivion at Cleveland City Hall - from Boy Wonder to Boy Blunder.
The next time I saw Kucinich was in New Hampshire, in 2004, and he was a congressman. His presidential campaign was the result of two terrible mistakes - first, the federal Campaign Finance Act, which allowed him to use taxpayer money to finance his moonbat crusade, and second, a state law in Ohio that set such late filing deadlines that he could run for both president and Congress.
The 2004 Democratic convention was in Boston, and guess who showed up. The weekend before the convention began, Kucinich stopped by my radio station and then decided to crash, along with his posse, in my studio.
A couple of nights later, I’m at the convention. I make my way to the rafters and enter the Fox News Channel suite. I shake hands with Bill O’Reilly and walk past the buffet table, when suddenly I hear a familiar voice behind me.
“Look at all this food,” Kucinich said, as his acolytes regarded the table like it was the Last Supper.
It was like when you get something stuck on the bottom of your shoe, and no matter how much you scrape, you just can’t get it off. Of course he is a vegetarian - you’re not surprised, are you? - so I figured how much damage could he and the disciples do?
But then Fred Barnes walked up to me, and he was not amused. He grimly nodded toward Kucinich and his moonbats.
“Is this your doing, Carr?” he asked.
It’s already been a strange year in politics, and I’m ready to predict what happens next. Ron Paul takes direction from Sasquatch.

Former Don Imus sidekick Bernard McGuirk could get his own radio show in Boston, sources told the Herald, even as Imus himself announced plans yesterday to return to the air Dec. 3, eight months after his racist remarks sparked a national furor.
Sources say McGuirk could eventually get his own radio show based in Boston, most likely WRKO (680 AM), with the possibility of syndication. McGuirk, who was canned with Imus in April, is set to be part of Imus’ new radio show but could leave if he gets his own gig, the sources said.
Citadel Broadcasting Corp. announced yesterday that the cranky cowboy is coming back to morning drive-time on New York-based WABC-AM on Dec. 3. CBS Radio fired Imus last spring when he described the Rutgers University women’s basketball team as “nappy-headed hos.”
Industry observers said they wouldn’t be surprised if Imus wound up back on Boston-area airwaves. Locally, Imus was heard on WTKK (96.9 FM), which is embroiled in a legal fight to replace his old slot with Herald columnist and WRKO host Howie Carr.
When asked if WTKK is interested in Imus, a station spokeswoman said: “We are still reviewing all of our options.”
Brian Maloney, an industry analyst and creator of the Radio Equalizer Web site, said the logical choice for Imus in the Hub is WRKO. Morning-drive yakker Tom Finneran has lackluster ratings and Carr has been off WRKO since September.
“Boston was the only market where Imus did pretty well other than New York,” said Maloney.
While Maloney said Citadel doesn’t own any Hub stations, it does run WPRO-AM in Providence.

About the only thing intriguing about the story is that it happened while they were in a car.
Otherwise, I tend to attribute alien abductions to an over producing pineal gland.
Unless, of course, it has Scott Baio giving pink eye to the "abductee".
