An illegal immigrant was sentenced today in Chesapeake Circuit Court to a year in prison for having sex with a 13-year-old girl and producing nude images of the child.
Carlos De La Cruz Ramos, fomerly of the 3700 block of S. Military Highway in Chesapeake, was arrested in May after a Wal-Mart store clerk processed film he had dropped off that showed images of a nude child, police said. Ramos was convicted in August of producing child pornography and carnal knowledge, both felonies carrying maximum punishments of 10 years in prison.
Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney David Whitted said Ramos was 19 when he committed the crime.
Judge E. Preston Grissom sentenced Ramos to five years with four years suspended on each conviction. His prison time will run together, meaning Ramos will serve an active sentence of one year behind bars. Grissom also ordered that Ramos, upon his release from prison, be turned over to federal authorities for deportation. Grissom ordered that Ramos register as a sex offender in the event he is not deported. If he ever returned to the United States, it would be a violation of his suspended sentence.
With the aid of an interpreter, Ramos stood in court today and responded "no" when asked if he had anything to say. Ramos, who has a sixth-grade education, has been in jail since his arrest March 8.
"The defendant enticed the victim in this particular offense to have sexual intercourse with him in her home," Whitted said, noting that Ramos also took pictures of the girl.
A clerk at the Wal-Mart on Grassfield Parkway alerted police after processing the pictures. When Ramos arrived at the store to pick up the pictures, police questioned him. Ramos said he had been dating the girl, police said.
During an investigation, police discovered that Ramos was in the country illegally. Prosecutors said he was here from Mexico.
The victim was not present for the sentencing. The child's mother has said that she was unaware of any sexual activity between her child and Ramos, police said. The girl admitted to a relationship.

I don’t agree with a lot of what he says-but I’m going to enjoy what Bill O does to this judge. He has to know whats coming his way.
Only a third world idiot would take nude child pictures to Wal Mart and expect them to be developed! He should get twenty years for stupidity!

In collaboration with other investigations, FSM has discovered that the illegal alien population contains a disproportionately large percentage of hard core criminals, sexual predators, and drunken drivers. While the President and Congress have basically proposed amnesty to all the illegal aliens who are currently in the United States, for the most part they do not want to discuss or make known the massive collateral damage that many of those same illegal aliens are inflicting on the American people. Once those illegal aliens are made legal immigrants, or guest workers, they will simply be added to the resident criminal population. FSM believes Americans need to know the full impact of such shortsighted and irresponsible folly before it is too late.
Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution states, “The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union, a republican form of government, and shall protect each of them against invasion; and on application of the legislature, or of the executive (when the legislature cannot be convened) against domestic violence.”
Unfortunately, in our politically correct era, “invasion” and “domestic violence” are now parsed with the word “is.” Regardless, our republican principals are being ignored, our borders are being trampled, our laws broken, our sovereignty violated, and our citizens are under attack from outside peoples, foreign nationals, who are committing more and more domestic violence, denying American Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, as well as Safety and Happiness.
As you peruse the VOIAC database and note the incredible number, and horrific impact, of the crimes committed by illegal aliens, remember that none of these crimes ever would have been committed if the President and Congress were exercising their constitutionally-mandated responsibilities of securing the border and enforcing existing law!
Also remember that you or a member of your family could just as easily be listed in VOIAC.
It is time that the American people be told the entire story and that the President and Congress be held accountable for allowing, and even enabling, these crimes to happen.
Yet, Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, two former Border Patrol agents, are serving more than decade-long sentences in federal prison for shooting a fleeing drug dealer, Osvaldo Aldrete Davila as he was trying to get away from them.

You’d be amazed at how often it happens. Back in the 1980s I managed a photo lab and we were turning stuff like this over to the cops a couple of times a year. The customers assumed that it was automated and nobody on staff actually looked at the pictures. As Einstein once said, “Only two things are infinite, the universe and man’s stupidity. I’m not certain about the former.”
