Forecasting possible additional expansions, H.R.1874, introduced in Congress by Rep. Robert Andrews (D-N.J.), proposes to prohibit any firearmrifle, shotgun, or handgun, semi-automatic or not, including all models now in existence and any invented hereafterthat doesnt micro-stamp effectively with every type of ammunition, every time. Gun control supporters see micro-stamping as another way of incrementally achieving what Congress and state legislatures have not done in a single strokeprohibit the sale of guns.1

If you would enslave a people, first make all of them felons. Then they have no appeal.

It may turn into a case of them coming for the guns and getting the ammo first... one round at a time!Seriously. If it comes to that, let it come.

They know there are ways around it. They know there are ways to abuse it. They don’t care about that.
What they care about is making it incrementally difficult/discouraging for the law-abiding to comply - and thus just give up the right entirely, voluntarily.
No confiscations.
No bans.
Just making it ever more difficult to comply, ever more costly to err, the whippings ever more painful than the chains, compliance unto oblivion ever more preferable to protecting rights.
Eventually, most give up, many taken out, and the few surviving holdouts viewed as freaks who exercise their right at tremendous personal cost to little apparent end.
My niece thinks “gun” is a Bad Word and refuses to say it.
Somewhere, a tyrant-in-waiting smiles.

May I modify the display to
Threats to liberty, if unchallenged, only invite further abuse. Gun control isnt about guns; its about control.

Submitted to Congress so it has legs. Whether it dies a deserved death who knows. I saw yesterday our pal Biden reintroduced the ‘94 AWB.

It would be really good to see as much effort going into crime control as goes into so called gun control.

They seem to be failing miserably at this. Looks more and more like they will use(or should it be are using?) bunk laws and the crooks themselves to control the law-abiding, fostering ever more fear and dependence on government.

Thanks for the info.
this sh!t really is like a bad episode of the twilight zone.
The only serenity I can get from the relentless assault on our freedoms is that they arent hiding it any longer. Maybe they think that they control us enough for the final push, and maybe alot of fence sitters will finally realise that it is well past time to push back...

What is going to stop the bad guys from re-manufacturing the parts or just filing the stamp off...I guess the moronic gun grabbers haven't figured that out yet.Of COURSE they have figured that out! You are missing the point of the bill. It has NOTHING to do with affecting crime. It's all about making guns too expensive and too inconvenient for the populace to buy -- a back door gun ban. Cops and crooks will not be affected, but that's OK with the gun banners. The inevitable rise in crime (witness DC and Philly) will just give the state an excuse to accumulate even more power, which is the ENTIRE goal!

It is entirely possible that the baddies are getting over confident. It is no longer just a gun issue but a freedom one. Look at all the silly smoking laws and now trans fat. Combine all the affected po’ed groups together and things could change for the better. As the poster above stated, I am tired of the game and want to see a resolution while young enough.

It is entirely possible that the baddies are getting over confident. It is no longer just a gun issue but a freedom one. Look at all the silly smoking laws and now trans fat. Excuse me, but does a technology like "micro-stamping" even exist? At one time, they were going to trace every round through embossed markings on the cartridge case. They can do that, but it's a case-at-a-time slog. And what about the "smart guns"? That technology never existed to the extent that a manufacturer could install it without incurring a huge liability risk.
This sounds like another liberal wet dream, like the 100MPG car, that is "readily available" because they want it to exist.
Liberalism means wishing things into existence, and ignoring reality. This is over and above whether it's a good idea in the first place.
