Prayers continue.

It’s time to get the PC JAG’s out of the war zones unless they’re with front line troops carrying rifles.

I hear the court martial of SSGT Hensley started yesterday. I also Evan's Art 32 hearing is scheduled for next week (but bighead knows more).

That one sure has flown under the radar, hasn't it? I wonder if any of the papers will cover it.

I pray he will have adequate civilian lawyers.

Me, too. There's only been THIS in the NY Times: "Court-Martial to Open in Killings of 3 Iraqis".

This was on NPR about the start of Hensley’s trial.
Curt has made it safely to Kuwait.

One soldier has said it is part of a Pentagon-sanctioned strategy.

That’s not exactly true. There was testimony that special operations uses it. I’m not sure if I read it in the media or in a write-up of the trial, but I know it somehow or other.

Besides, it makes sense.

Curt told me that this program originated with one of the alphabet soup companies and was given to the AWG by them.
Curious he was warned to guard his statements about something that doesn’t even exist.
He sent a long, rambling e-mail, which tells me he is keyed up like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

The technique has been around for decades—if not forever. One Vietnam vet I know says they called it setting out “honeypots”.

Perhaps I should have said this new and improved version.

This is still amazing, to me, that the US gov’t is forcing a “murder” hearing in Iraq. This is so wrong to force family to go through this much effort and then pay for the additional cost just to try to support their loved one.

Nah, what you said is right on. The point is that we sent boys to stop an insurgency. And they’ve done the job.

But now many in the military establishment want to further their careers and prove their own moral superiority.

Beware the man who lives for self-congratulation. And that’s all I see coming out of the prosecution and their buttboys in the media.

I’m not sure, but I find it strange that a General Court is being held overseas. In the Navy, GCMs were sent Stateside, only Summary and Special were held within the Command. That’s from back in the 60’s, so they may have changed their procedures. Does a “Change of Venue” appear possible?

Its a shame that the military justice system is a sham. I think some house cleaning is long overdue. On the juries, the selected members should show up in clothes where indications of rank is NOT visible. As for the JAG's, they need to be made independent from the local base commanders.

In the company I work for, we have an ethics office and it is totally independent from the different projects and they only answer to the Ch. of the Board/CEO and no one else.

Sounds crazy to me. It forces the lawyers and their aides along with family members to travel overseas with all the additional costs associated. I don’t think it’s a cheap trip. Additionally, I imagine it limits accessability between the client, civilian lawyers, and JAG lawyers as they work on a defense. I have no idea why the venue is not stateside. One logical conclusion might be that it is a coercive tactic. This is a murder trial for goodness sake.

Of the three snipers involved in these incidents, Sandoval’s trial was completed in Baghdad, Hensley’s trial is currently underway, and Vela’s hearing is scheduled to start this weekend in Baghdad. BHfred would know more.

Question: Why did the chicken cross the road?

Chicken? Chicken? Who the hell said anything about a chicken?

There ain’t no chicken!

Even if there was a chicken, he must have been a free range chicken.

None of our chickens have orders to cross the road.

Wait, THERE AIN’T NO CHICKEN!

WHY, I OUGHT TO, OUGHT TO....... Get promoted!

IMO, they want to break these kids and bury them in a deep dark hole.

Evan’s art. 32 is rescheduled for Nov. 11.
All I can tell you is he has had an assful of the bullshit.
(bighead too)

Thanks for the ping on the Chessani thread RedRover.

Probably won’t post there as you are all probably pretty tired of my asinine ranting.

RESPECT to all, bhf
