A top executive of Dubai-based carrier Emirates on Thursday rubbished Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore's Oscar-winning documentary on climate change, saying he did not believe the film's scientific theory on global warming.

"Don't talk to me about global warming... I just do not buy it whatsoever," Maurice Flanagan, Emirates executive vice chairman, said at a regional aviation conference in Singapore.

"Al Gore's 'Inconvenient Truth' is absolute rubbish,"

“”Al Gore’s ‘Inconvenient Truth’ is absolute rubbish,”

And water is wet.

In the future, global warming will be looked back at in the same way that we look at disco music today.

Did I hear right that Gore would be the laughing stock of the world in 5 years?

I’m starting to meet a lot of people who say “Global warming is true and its truth cannot be debated”. That sounds like a good dose of Kool-Aid to me if you can’t tolerate a contrary view.

There’s a local TV station here in the Twin Cities.

It’s call signs are WCCO - but might as well be WDFL.

For the last year and a half, they have ridden the global warming bandwagon very hard.

Last summer, one of their reporters said that global warming was a 100% indisputable fact. Every six months or so, they like to run little stories called “Global Warming 101” or interview Arctic explorer Will Steiger (hardly a climatologist) for his opinions.

Same here in Austin. The Silly Council has been riding the Gore Bull bandwagon for sometime here as well. Nancy Botox pelosi came here the other day to praise the efforts. I should have posted the Statesman article, but the libs thought it was the best thing ever - to have the first female speaker here to visit.

Anytime someone says that, it means they can't defend it. I also hear it alot from the "Bush is a liar" crowd. When you ask them for specifics, they retreat to "Everyone knows he is a liar so there is no point talking about it".

I am all for energy conservation. I think we should reduce our consumption of fossil fuel for a lot of reasons, not the least of them being that we are shipping our money out of the country to buy them at a prodigious rate. They are environmentally destructive, at some level, to recover from the Earth, and the combustion results in some pollutants, no matter what you do. So consumption reduction is a good idea, all ‘round.

I just don’t the World will come to an end if we don’t.
