I’m not for Rudy, but at this moment this is encouraging news, because it may mean that, at this moment, Virginia is tending back republican, which would be helpful since we have an election next tuesday.
It was a bit worrisome to have Clinton look so popular here a few weeks ago.
Interesting. I wonder what will happen in Virginia when a Republican who can also appeal to the Republican base gets the nod.
In other contests, Rodham Clinton is almost tied with both actor and former Tennessee senator Fred Thompson and Arizona senator John McCain ..In 2004 .. Bush carried Virginias 13 electoral votes, with 54 per cent of all cast ballots.Hill is behind all three and leads Mitt by 9.
But there's no way Fruity Rooty would ever come close to Dubya's 54%. If his deal with Satan pays off and is the candidate, Hillary will have the 54%. (she'll take the entire South by default)
Red sates, Virginia, Missouri and Ohio comprise 44 electoral votes. These were narrow Bush wins in 2004. Wisconsin, and NH are 14 votes, narrow Kerry wins. I think those are the key states in the 2008 race.
Hillary will have the 54%. (she’ll take the entire South by default)
What default??? Obviously you ain’t from the South!
BTW, McCain was ahead in all these same states.
Not only are the red states, so far, holding firm, but it looks like Rudy or McCain would pick up a couple of blue states. They were also both close or tied in WI and WA.
The narrow Bush and Kerry states are the states to go after. Giuliani’s 50-state appeal is nonsense. Campaigning in NY, NJ, IL, and Cali are wastes of money unless it is to help Congressional candidates out.
That edge will disappear after HRC picks James Webb to be her VP.
Then again, Webb is too much of a maverick, she probably doesn’t want a live wire like that at her side.
Can you give us one blue state Giuliani leads in?
If Romney wins Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, history says, that is it for everyone else seeking the nomination.

Virginia - 2008 U.S. Presidential Election
Rudy Giuliani (R) 46% - 43% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)
Fred Thompson (R) 46% - 45% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)
John McCain (R) 44% - 43% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)
Mitt Romney (R) 39% - 48% Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)
That headline calls up horrid images......
