Do bars close at 2:00 a.m. in New York? He must be angling for the Teddy Kennedy vote.

Another rat caught in a trap. If this was a Republican problem it would have been on the front page of the slimes until Tuesday.

This should not be allowed. There should be a no-call law for after 10 pm. Can you imagine how the folks who got that 2 a.m. call felt? No doubt many thought “Oh crap, who died?” That is a horrible thought to have and for it to be a campaign call is ridiculous. Yes I feel the same way if it was a Republican making the call. Hopefully the city council will look into this.

He must have had my wife program the calls. She’s good at setting the coffee pot to come on a 6:00 PM.

I don’t like these types of recorded calls period, whether made during the day or at night. They’re nothing more than political telemarketing, and I lump them into the same category as the light bulb/septic tank repair/credit offer calls that I used to get before I signed up on the state do-not-call lists.

Volpe agrees it was a mistake to have the late night call made.

I think you all are missing the REAL story here: THIS is a Democrat who recognizes the obvious. And not only that, but when he sees it he doesn't immediately lie about it and continue to do so for three weeks and then admit it only after his records have been subpoenaed and the fight over the subpoena has been taken to and rejected by the Supreme Court.

He'll never last as a Democrat. He needs to go study with the Clintoons.

The first time I received an automated campaign call the only thing that came to mind was, “WTF are they thinking?” I can’t think of a more effective way to ensure that someone will NOT vote for you.

Volpe agrees it was a mistake to have the late night call made... He said he would apologize personally to each of the more than 150 people who complained to him.

I'm sure he will. Considering that Oros beat Volpe by 1,021 votes in the last election (source: Westchester County Board of Elections 2005 Results), 150 votes here and 150 votes there would surely make a difference.
