“As someone who constantly plays the LDS card and screams victimhood, neither is your support for Mitt Rino.”

I love my Church and don’t appreciate people lying and trying to deceive people about what they think I believe. That is not victimhood and that is not “playing the LDS card”.

As for your comment about Mitt Romney being a RINO - his record and life prove otherwise - so you are just spreading lies. But it’s a free country and ain’t America grand!

An American citizen has the right to change his/her mind about abortion and it happens every day. Thank God, most of the time it’s from pro choice to pro life!

Like Ronald Reagan, Mitt Romney had a change of heart on this issue. Jim Robinson used to be a DEMOCRAT and I was there when he turned his back on the democrats and registered Republican - at the corner of Shaw & Blackstone in Fresno. People learn and grow. I voted for Jimmy Carter for President. Good grief! What was I thinking?!!

Anyway, my point is that Mitt Romney said he was wrong and he is sorry. If unforgiving people refuse to accept his apology and continue to rant and rave about the abortion issue, well, the ball is in their court and they will choke on it.

“387 self identified Republicans”

My guess is some of these may be covert Dems.

The real issue here is we are electing a president, and the other issues like gay mariage, gun rights, and abortion are STATE issues! Aren't we a Republic with 50 states?

So all these "phantom issues" that the liberals and the "my republican candidate isn't faring too well" folks who are muddying the waters with "state issues" are going to be really shocked when it comes down to "Rudy and Hillary", running for president.

The reason being is that too many people are too lazy to CARE about issues at the state level and REALLY REALLY don't care about those issues on a federal level.

The average voter this coming election will stick to one question in their mind..."Do I think this person is smart enough to care for my country"...and couple it with name recognition...hence the race will be Hillary and Rudy.

This race isn't about Free Republic and all of our superior (so we think) thinking...it is about the average "Joe Blow" and what they will do on election day.

Yes sure, we all know there are better republican candidates than Rudy running this time being discussed here on this forum, but at the same time this forum has reduced itself to eating its own over petty "I hate this candidate because...crap, you are stupid to support that person...crap", I will rather not vote if it is _____________ elected to run against Hillary...crap".

What I have learned lately here about many posters on this forum..."they secretly want the Clinton back in the White House so they can bitch and moan for 8 more years".

This leads to the REAL question here on this forum SHOULD BE and remain...Can I and will I pull the lever for the "Republican Candidate" (who over it will be) to slow down Hillary's lumbering waltz into the White House...and to be frank what I have seen here on FR is disgusting when it get to that topic.

I love this country too much to hand the Clintons 8 MORE YEARS!!!!!!

Mitt went from 9% in Sept to 17% in Oct. That’s a pretty large jump. Fred was up vs Rudy in Sept 32 vs 28. Now he’s losing 26 to 32%. That’s not a very positive direction unfortunately for the Rep Party.

I forgive him, I have no problem with that.

However that is irrelevant to the situation at hand.

While I can forgive I can not trust a man who if indeed he was very firm in his pro life stance, was also willing to betray his own moral compass in favor of political gain on multiple occasions over several years.

I believe that Rudy will lose the support of most conservatives when they learn about his “sanctuary city” of New York. It certainly turns me off.

It’s not the abortion issue about which I have reservations. It’s just an overall attitude that government is the entity on which folks should depend. He believes in big government solutions for too many situations.

Oh, yeah, thanks. I remember now. I would not do that to my dog. It would break the roof of my car if I tried to.

As much as a like the result of Thompson staying up near the top, the methodology on this poll is too poor to warrant paying much attention to — adults, rather than registered or likely voters, and online interviews, which introduces additional levels of self-selection biasing.
