Vietnam Wall - 25th Anniversary, Nov. 10,2007
Nov. 03,2007

Posted on 11/03/2007 5:09:05 PM PDT by trooprally

LIST of the WEEK'S EVENTS including Reading of the Names.

Here is a quick break down of Saturday's events.

There is going to be a Opening Ceremony from 10 AM till 11 AM on the Mall at 3rd ST. between Jefferson and Davis Drives.

Closes Metro is the Blue/Orange Line stop at Federal Center, SW. But if you want to enjoy a nice morning stroll along the Mall, any of the other stops are good.

There is a Parade from 11 AM til 4 PM. It appears to start where the opening Ceremony is and go to the Washington Monument grounds. The route is not given.

At the Washington Monument Grounds from 12 noon till 6 PM the flyer says "Parade participants and the general public can enjoy a variety of activities and street vendors".

There is a great line up of entertainers on Saturday.

The flyer also says book your rooms and make travel arrangements at www.vva.org

For all the Marines reading this thread - Happy Birthday on this Saturday. Semper Fi

A salute to those brave heroes serving our Republic with bravery and honor. Also to my fellow vets.

I saw the traveling wall in Vancouver several years ago and I'll never forget. I was fine until I got within about 100 yards from it and broke down. Took me about 1/2 hour to make that last 100 yards. I too want with all my heart to someday see the D.C. wall.

I was at the Swift Boat Sailors reunion this summer and heard that when some Swift Boat guys were at the wall in D.C., tons of people wanted their pictures taken with them .......ESPECIALLY PEOPLE FROM MASSACHUSETS !!

What a hoot !

Many Thanks for posting the Links to this Thread.

I hope the FReepers who have viewed this thread will come back and link to them.

I looked at some of the links but have to get onto writing some AARs.

I’m fine, thanks...:) Had a series of “life events” recently, and at the same time due to trends here being more “selective” re posting....;^)

I wish I could be there this weekend, Mr. T! We are doing care packaging this weekend and I have a special Sunday at church coming up.

I look forward to reports of the Wall’s 25th anniversary.

Sounds like all is well. Good to hear that. Yea, FR can be addictive. I’ve also cut back on posting but still active in FReeping.

Great photo of the Eagles at The Wall Dita!

Enjoyed viewing your photos Aloha. I always liked Sam Shepherd.

I still need to send my donation to Operation Gratitude. Will do! :)
Thanks so much for the pings!

I wish I could be in DC for the parade on Saturday and the ceremony at the Wall for our Hero Veterans on Sunday.
