ISLAMABAD: The police on Sunday arrested Hamid Gul, an outspoken former chief of Inter-Services Intelligence, Pakistan's premier spy agency, during a small public gathering.I am going to break a news that Former ISI chief Lt General (Retd) Hamid Gul has been arrested, said, the senior analyst of Geo Television Network Dr. Shahid Masood.
"It is not an emergency, it's martial law. One man has put the country at stake to save his rule," Gul said before he was pushed into a police van and whisked off.
He was former for a reason. If he keeps it up he'll be described as formerly of this world.
Musharaf is taking on the heroin smugglers straight away.
This can only lead to drastic increase in violence in the coming days.
Pakistan Ping List
I’ve lost track of the list of ‘players’ in Pakistan — is this Gul guy from the pro-taliban wing of the ISI??
Very interesting. Thanks for posting.

Sorry, that’s when you post at strange hours. Wrong thread.

Whoa.
Pure Evil.
Thank you...
I thought - and hoped - this might be the case, perhaps signalling an end to Musharraf’s de-facto policy of coexistence with the Islamist factions.....
I never was completely comfortable with a strong pro-Taliban/AQ presence in a nuclear-armed country....
Good sign that this time they may really clean up!
Say your prayers that they have some cool young Colonels guarding the holy of holies.
I don't trust Musharraf. Keep an open mind...and see how this shakes out.
Yep....the evil ones will come after Mushy now.
I don’t trust Musharraf either, but who does one trust in Pakistan?
” I don’t trust Musharraf. “
I don’t exactly ‘trust’ anybody in that part of the world...
To misquote: “He may be a slimy, opportunistic dictator, but he’s OUR slimy, opportunistic dictator...”
As far as seeing how this shakes out — this move by Musharraf has a very real chance of backfiring, and instead of increasing stability, foment open revolt....
And those nukes still make me nervous.....
