NARAL and Planned Parenthood are also very much extremist organizations on this issue. They are against anything short of government-sponsored abortion and birth control, so someone who would relinquish decisions to the states would receive very negative marks for those organizations, regardless of whether or not all of those states would institute abortion on demand.

Ooooooo! A double smack down of Juan over the State Department weasel by both Hume and Kristol with a bit of an assist from Wallace. That’s gonna leave a mark! And not just on Juan but on Croddy, as well.

Look at the quality of posting in #382— that is, if it’s still there. A new low.

Thanks again. Anita. Your media nuggets are always terrific!

With the cowardly FSOs refusing to do what they promised to do, when they entered the US Foreign Service and gave an oath to carry out ALL of their orders, there likely will be more stories in the not-too-distant future about the State Department under Powell’s and Armitage’s “leadership.”

Americans will see the TRUE face of Colin Powell.

Sheesh, the CNN panel all in a tizzie over Hillary. There is no real race for the dem nomination. This is all they have to talk about and they are making the most of it.

I think I have to tune out the rest of it. It’s too sickening.

Do you really believe he would run for President if he believed that the possibility of not surviving his first term due to his illness was a real question?

I said in my first response that I do believe he is in remission, and I personally have no problem with his condition. My point was I want ALL candidates to be vetted now, by releasing the records by themselves, and not have the MSM turn it into the "Heart Disease Awareness Campaign" that they did with VP Cheney in 2000.

I forgot to add that Bill Clinton never did release all of his medical records.

And there were thousands of posts on this site that criticized him (and the MSM) for this.

You guys have to vote the bums out!! N.C. remains a Conservative state!

Not when you count the yellow dog Democrats and the northern and Kalifornia Liberals flocking to this state like blow flies to a gut pile. Another election cycle or two and this state will be purple, then blue, just like a lot of other formerly red ones.

The problem is, Liberals invariably foul their nests and when the chickens come home to roost on their socialist ideas, they pack up and move someplace else - bringing their failed attitudes and policies with them.

Unless we can hold onto some of the levers of the federal government, take back our schools and universities, and reverse the cultural rot, this country will be lost - if not to our domestic fascists, then to the Islamic ones!

2008 is a crucial year for the survival of America. We must hold the Presidency and maybe gain back the House. If not, the opportunity for reversal will be lost and the steep slide into the abyss will begin in earnest. There is a certain final tipping point in a culture. We are on the cusp of it. The illegal immigration imbroglio is just the tip of the iceberg, but a telling one as to how far we have already slipped. For gosh sake, we can barely get an acceptable man confirmed as Attorney General during wartime!

This country can not, will not, survive eight more years of the Clinton Criminal Enterprise and concurrent Liberal deconstruction of our most precious heritage and values and wholesale sellout to our enemies.

It seems there are folks just itching for a fight today. I’m not interested.

See ya’ll later.

To my fellow freepers, if you had a Charlie Rose type of one on one talk show, who would be your guest and what would be the first question that you would ask them? I also got phone-surveyed by a polling firm for CNN, and boy did I give them an earfull!!!!!! They asked me how likely as a woman are you going to vote for Senator Hillary Clinton - well, I guess you can think what my answer was. The drive-bys are desperate to push up the poll numbers for the dear leader aka pol pot II./Just Asking - seoul62.......

Seconded, I’m out. There are a few non-regular people here who have made themselves as unwelcome as illegal aliens. If this is going to be the case every time Fred Thompson shows up on these shows, I hope he doesn’t show up again.

It’s a shame a few idiots have to ruin things for everyone.

I believe Thompson would choose McCain as his running mate if he won the nomination. Mc Cain would take the spot as it would be the closest he’d get to the oval office.

I don't think he would pick McCain as they are already too associated for many people and it wouldn't give any "balance" to the ticket.  I'm leaning towards Romney or someone not in the field, maybe a woman or minority as well, and almost certainly someone who would give some pull either in the Northeast or West Coast.  McCain's even losing some of his base in the Southwest, so I don't think he'd bring anything to the ticket.  Obviously Fred's base is in the South, so he'll avoid other Southerners if he's the nominee.

By the same token if Romney or Giulliani get the nod they might choose Thompson, Hunter or Huckabee to pull the South and conservatives in.  I don't think either of them would consider McCain, either.

McCain might get Defense or Homeland Security in a Thompson administration.  I've already recommended Giulliani for Director of National Intelligence.

"You can't stand to hear anything not entirely positive about YOUR chosen candidate...which is pretty much what has been going on on this site for months now. Someone doesn't see thing your way, attack, attack, attack. It has become mindless, tiresome and annoying."

Deserves repeating....and I'm a diehard FDT fan.

I presume you mean by ALL, both parties. Fred said on MTP that he will release those medical records that have been traditionally provided to the public. He also said he authorized his physician to speak with the MSM about the issue. Your comments seemed directed at Fred. I don't think that GOP candidates need to be any more forthcoming than their Dem opponents and certainly not all of their medical records, only those that could have an impact on their service in office.

And there were thousands of posts on this site that criticized him (and the MSM) for this.

It didn't hurt Clinton. If the 2008 election is going to be a contest between health resumes, then the GOP will probably lose. Only Romney appears to have had no real health problems. Hillary seemingly has nothing nor Obama or Edwards. Of course, Hillary is going to be the nominee so the others don't count anyway. Therefore, what role should health concerns play in the GOP primaries. I hope little to none.
