Pledging yourself to one term as President makes you instantly irrelevent and a lame duck. They’d immediately be talking about who the next President is going to be. In a way, we’d almost be better off going to a single 6-year term for which you can’t run for reelection. Most Presidents tend to burn out by their 6th year, anyway.
