U.S. Park Police are searching for a cruiser that was discovered stolen after a voice appearing to impersonate an officer transmitted an unfamiliar broadcast over the force radio system early yesterday.
At about 7:30 a.m., a Park Police commander questioned an incoming transmission as abnormal, said Sgt. Robert Lachance, a Park Police spokesman. Police subsequently traced the voice to a cruiser that was supposed to be undergoing repairs at an auto shop in Brentwood, Lachance said.
"You could pretty much tell that it wasn't Park Police" given the nature of a Park Police transmission, Lachance said.
Lachance wouldn't elaborate on the content or tone of the transmission.
"It was obviously not someone in our agency," he said. But, he added, "the transmission appeared to be an attempt to impersonate someone in the agency."
The stolen vehicle was described as a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria with the U.S. government registration number 1254207. The vehicle, part of the force's canine unit, had a dog cage instead of a backseat and bore the full markings of the U.S Park Police, with overhead lights and K9 6 on the rear corner panels.
Park police are cautioning people to keep windows up and doors locked if they are pulled over by someone in a Park Police cruiser who isn't in uniform. They advise residents to request that any plainclothes officer show a badge and credentials.

The ghost of Vince Foster has the car and he is using it to collect all the secret evidence about the 100 dead bodies (including his) that led to the Clinton White House.
The reason why this can't be true is because the Clintons and their coherts committed so many crimes while in power that it would take a fleet of trucks filled with incriminating evidence against the Clinton mob and its Arkansas Mafia.

The Park Police are still working on the Foster case, but they’ve forgotten the combination to the safe where they put the evidence.

Yes, just north of NY Ave, Anacostia area, in Price George’s County. It was the first area where D.C. and PG County agreed to allow police cars to cross the D.C. line when in pursuit of a fleeing criminal.

This sounds like a case they might have a chance to handle without any influence from 1600.
