LOL!   You're right!   Too bad they cropped off the country's label.

Pic 2 appears to be the coast of Texas. The Mississippi River runs down to New Orleans in the picture also.

Well, considering that Antarctica is in the southern hemisphere, I'm not sure I follow that logic.

Since I don't know Indonesia from Shinola, I'm going to say it's somewhere in Indonesia.

Come to think of it, isn't Shinola in Indonesia?

Dang it all, this is going to just drive us nuts. I meant southern hemisphere, but not the pole you goof. Indonesia, Australia, something off of S America? Doesn’t appear populated?

My point was that the lack of snowmass doesn't make it any more likely to be in the southern vs. the northern hemisphere.

I don't know if it appears populated.   I can't get my computer to zoom in enough to see people.   I should'a gotten a Mac.

Letting go and floating out like that has got to really screw with your brain!

What would screw with my brain would be the thought that I'm moving at some 17000 MPH or the thought that there are other things moving around out there just as fast.

I just had an epiphany....New Brunswick!!

Then, I looked at a map, and the epiphany was no more.

Someone needs to help me out so I can go to bed.

Please.

We all miss him very much. If I am not mistaken, I think the company made the Canada sign, too. I know they made one for a country and they gave our guys a lot of trouble about it. They had to go down to the Cape to put it on the shuttle or whatever the thing is that it is on. Just a few of the many accomplishments that this company has done since being started in our living room.

Is that an enormous golf course sand trap on the island that's in the upper right corner of the picture?

I'm gonna Google "worlds largest sand trap" and see where that might be.

Remember, the picture may be backwards or upside down. It is a canadian camera most likely...

Hmmm. There’s an orbital custard pie joke just begging to happen...

I suspect the land mass (given the altitude) is an oddly oriented Australia. I believe that it is surrounded completely by wate with out a lot of topographical changes. I believe that North is to the right, so West is on the bottom...I thik it is hard to make identifications from space as we are not seeing the land mass in the orientation we expect. My 2 cents worth.

Oh, believe me....I've turned my monitor sideways, upside down, backwards...you name it.

I've concluded (mainly in the interest of getting to bed at a reasonable hour tonight) that NASA has discovered a new planet and is covering it up.

Somehow, Canada is involved in this, too...I just haven't worked out all the details yet.

Very cool. Thanks for posting.

I remember my first Course in Astronomy 30 plus years ago. I was in so over my head (hey, I made a pun) with that Class, but I did manage to pass it.
