On his daily radio talk show, Glenn Beck portrays himself as an average guy, a recovering alcoholic and a comedian who regularly injects humor into his conservative politics.
This week he can add another description: very wealthy.
Premiere Radio Networks, a subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications, is expected to announce today that it is extending Mr. Becks contract.
Two sources with knowledge of the deal said it was valued at
$50 million over five years,
through a combination of salary and profit-sharing from syndication.

From the way they were talking this morning, he is spreading it around his staff pretty well. Good for Glenn.

From what he said, he made most of his staff full time positions, gave them 100 percent health insurance, and a lot of them got 70 percent raises. Also agreed to match any charitable donations they make.

I think he’s worth every dollar. I don’t get a chance to watch his program on cnn much, because it’s difficult for me to watch cnn, Glenn or no Glenn. However, I enjoy his 9am to 12 radio program.

The best way to keep talent, and attract new talent, is to reward them and recognize their excellence. It sounds like Glenn understands this.
Congratulations on the windfall Glenn. You’ve earned it.

Good for him. He actually has an audience and he gets paid because of it.
Jernine Gawdawfulhole and alfranken had a listener ship of 12 and they got huge contracts.

He and the staff were talking about it on the air around 9:30 or so.
