Oddly, I don’t know any stoners who have really done anything. I know alcoholics who have done well. I even know a crack addict who was successful until he went off the deep end. But it could be that unmotivated people are drawn towards marijuana rather than vice-versa.

I've always heard that a lot of time folks with high IQ's are drawn to MJ. I know had a prof in grad school at Ga Tech that was a real brainiac. IIRC, I think he held a PhD in electrical engineering. I'm all but certain this guy was a stoner to the extreme. I'd run into him several times off campus and he was blistered....

Reminds me of a time when I was a line cook. I was having a cigarette break in the bar. The owner, a bitter, seething man, was watching me smoke, and said "One of these days I'm going to quit hiring smokers."

I said "You've got it all wrong. I don't goof off cuz I smoke. I smoke so I have something to do while I goof off."
