“Bush military role less than glorious” - Nov. 12, 2002 by writer John Hamilton of Dedham.
Compared to Bill Clinton’s ‘military record’, George W. Bush looks like Sgt. York!
Here are the facts:
* Bill Clinton registers for the draft on September 08, 1964, accepting all contractual conditions of registering for the draft. Given Selective Service Number # 3 26 46 228.
* Bill Clinton classified 2-S on November 17, 1964
* Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on March 20, 1968
* Bill Clinton ordered to report for induction on July 28, 1969
* Bill Clinton dishonors order to report and is not inducted into the military
* Bill Clinton reclassified 1-D after enlisting in the United States Army Reserves on August 07, 1969 under authority of Colonel E. Holmes. Clinton signs enlistment papers and takes oath of enlistment.
* Bill Clinton fails to report to his duty station at the University of Arkansas ROTC, September 1969.
* Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on October 30, 1969, as enlistment with Army Reserves is revoked by Colonel E. Holmes and Clinton now AWOL and subject to arrest under Public Law 90-40 (2)(a) ‘registrant who has failed to report..remain liable for induction’.
* Bill Clinton’s birthdate lottery number is 311, drawn December 1, 1969, but anyone who has already been ordered to report for induction, is INELIGIBLE!
* Bill Clinton runs for Congress (1974), while a fugitive from justice under Public Law 90-40.
* Bill Clinton runs for Arkansas Attorney General (1976), while a fugitive from justice.
* Bill Clinton receives pardon on January 21, 1977 from Carter.
* Bill Clinton FIRST PARDONED FEDERAL FELON ever to serve as President.
All these facts come from Freedom of Information requests, public laws and various books that have been published and have gone unrefuted by Clinton.
Sitting next to me as I write this letter, is a copy of SHEET 8 - SELECTIVE SERVICE CLASSIFICATION RECORD - HOT SPRINGS, ARKANSAS, on which is the name of Bill Clinton and 29 other registrants. Columns 7 & 8 of SHEET 8, are blank for Bill Clinton. There is no determination of status for Bill Clinton, for either military or civilian occupation, that would fulfill his obligation as a Selective Service Registrant.

She said she wanted to be a Marine. I really believe that one.

Hillary Clinton: I Tried to Join the Marines
USA Today’s report on Sen. Hillary Clinton’s newfound appeal as a possible commander in chief omitted a key part of her resume that proves she’s long been a hawk on military and defense issues: her attempt to join the Marines 30 years ago.
Or at least that’s what she claimed.
Seated beside her husband, the former first lady recounted her military experience during a 1994 TV interview.
“Gee, now it was probably 19 years ago - in 1975,” Mrs. Clinton recalled. “I decided that I was very interested in having some experience in serving in some capacity in the military.”
“Because we all love the military so much,” Mr. Clinton interjected helpfully.
Hillary resumed: “So I walked into our local recruiting office, and I think it was just my bad luck that the person who happened to be there on duty could not have been older than 21. He was in perfect physical shape.”
She remembered telling the recruiter, “I wanted to explore - I didn’t know whether I thought active duty would be a good idea, reserve, you know, maybe National Guard, something along those lines.”
But Hillary’s bid to become a leatherneck soon came unraveled.
“This young man looked at me and he said, ‘How old are you?’” she recalled.
“I said, ‘Well, 27’ ... I had these really thick glasses on.
“He said, ‘How bad’s your eyesight?’
“I said, ‘It’s pretty bad.’
“And he said, ‘How bad?’
“So I told him.
“He said, ‘That’s pretty bad.’
“And he finally said to me, he said: ‘You’re too old. You can’t see. And you’re a woman.’ And then he went on ... this man, young man, was a Marine.
“He said, ‘But maybe the dogs [Army] would take you.’”
“This is not a very encouraging conversation,” Mrs. Clinton recalled thinking. “So maybe I’ll look for another way to serve my country.”
The original transcript of Hillary’s “I-tried-to-join-the-Marines” interview has vanished from the LexisNexis archives, but excerpts from a rebroadcast on Rush Limbaugh’s old TV show are still available.
When are Hillary’s opponebts going to start comparing her to Evita Peron and the wife of the former Romanian dictator who was shot during an uprising.

Uh...somebody needs to tell Hillary it happens to be HER governor of her state. All New Yorkers are and should be second guessing the SPITZ. I think her bad performance just continues.
Did she want to be a marine before or after her namesake climbed Mt. Everest..when she was eight and not yet named obviously?
She was named after the Mt. Everest climber (Sir Edmund Hillary) before HE WAS CONCEIVED.
