Fred Thompson Calls Mike Huckabee A "Pro-Life Liberal"
WKRN ^

Posted on 11/07/2007 12:58:23 PM PST by jaybeegee

Fred Thompson stops by Steve Gill’s radio show and reacts to the Pat Robertson endorsement of Rudy Giuliani, talks immigration reform and shares his impression of Governor Mike Huckabee as a “pro-life liberal.”

“When you’re very, very low and you come in for a while just very low then that’s considered to be a surge in politics. He’s doing better.

He’s a good man but he’s a pro-life liberal. He’s right on the pro-life part, but he’s a liberal. You look at his taxes in the state you look at what he said about immigration. You know he worked against any attempt to control immigration coming in through his home state…”

~ Fred Thompson on Mike Huckabee on the Steve Gill Show

Fred also lets Rudy (yes, he calls him Rudy) have it on gun licensing. Audio here.

I love that dry wit.

Sadly, I can’t really argue with that. But if I’m going to have nothing but liberals to pick from, I’m going to pick a fiscal liberal over a social liberal.

I knew it! Fred is an older version of me!!!!!

See my homepage. I’ve been saying this FOR YEARS! Guys like Huckabee and Brownback are NOT conservatives, just because they’re pro-life and talk about God a lot.

Wasn’t Al Gore once a pro-life liberal?

Just askin’...

I’m the opposite.

My personal values are what they are...but my wallet is at the mercy of the Government.

I hope to NOT have to make that choice.

Fastest way to get a title fixed is to hit the “report abuse” button and request a change.

Ceausescu was a fiscal ‘liberal’ who banned all abortions in Romania. This combination led to many babies stuck in orphanages because their mothers couldn’t afford to take care of them.

when they got rid of him, abortion was legalized and now romania has the highest abortion rate. why? again, poor economy

Pro life and fiscal conservatism must go hand in hand.

Right, and neither were Jimmah Cartah and G.W. Bush. It's tragic that some prominent evangelicals are fooled by rhetoric.

I don’t want to have to make the choice either. Still, being robbed of my money is not as bad as being forced to support immoral stuff.
